“Everyone is well aware that relics are a unique national spiritual and historical heritage and a shrine for millions of believers. Therefore, the state must examine and understand for itself which of these relics was transferred for veneration by the Church in the 80s, which is now and in what condition. The members of the commission take descriptions of what the relics looked like in 1926, then compare them with the last inventory in the eighties.”

“Among the commission members themselves are serious scientists. For example, the scientist whom some call a “veterinarian” is actually a professor who participated in the re-embalming of Pirogov’s body. Therefore, he knows very well how to approach such preserved incorruptible remains as relics.”
