But I get it. It’s hard and time consuming at first to put everything together and make it applicable for your specific circumstances. Especially when you feel suboptimal and aren’t functioning well.

Ray Peat on coffee and sleep:

“If your liver is very hypothyroid and slow to metabolize things, you might have to stop your coffee in the early afternoon because it will keep circulating the caffeine. But when your liver is able to store glycogen, coffee right up to bedtime can improve the depths of your sleep because one of the anti-stress things it does is to act as an aromatase inhibitor and since estrogen turns on serotonin and histamine and other stress hormones, caffeine—by taking down estrogen—will let your deep sleep come on.”

This is what I mean when I say I sometimes have coffee before bed and that sleeping requires energy.

Putting week 3 & 4 together and moving it to the weekend instead of Tuesdays. I also don’t want it to be just a vlog, it should have valuable info in it that you don’t hear elsewhere.

I’m getting too many questions on how to fix people their health.

All the general advice is already made readily available on the channel and I can’t keep answering the same questions over and over again and then tailor it to an individuals specific circumstances.

I’m opening consultancy. You can dm me @arcanejonnie for further details

After 6 months of the evil chinese seed oil diet my physique had been left crumpled and oxidized.
In the latest video I show the exact foods and macros of what I eat in a day to get back to leanness.

The wrong way to lose fat — an excerpt from my upcoming pdf:

CICO (calories in calories out) mindset by itself is retarded.
Calories matter only in context of metabolism. It decides whether your food becomes energy or fat.
A “fast metabolism” can come from two completely different drivers:
- Proper thyroid function (the good kind)
- Chronic stress (the degenerative kind)

Under-eating triggers the stress response; your thyroid signals your body to shift into survival mode:
- Cortisol and adrenaline rise
- Thyroid function drops
- Protective hormones like testosterone drop
- Stress hormones including estrogen further rise
- Metabolism turns catabolic, eating lean muscle to survive
- As muscles are metabolically stimulating, the loss in muscle tissue will further slow down metabolism
- A downward spiral of entropy entails…

Congrats, now you can eat even less.
The result is the typical skinny fat physique and pancake ass.

Sugar is stored as glycogen in the muscles and liver. When glycogen runs low, your body will break down muscle to keep blood sugar steady. Detoxification depends on a healthy liver and your liver needs two things which are sugar (glucose) and proper thyroid function.
Rather than sugar being “addictive”, it’s essential. You can hold your breath longer than your brain can go without sugar.

“But muh keto!”

Using fat as primary fuel is a stress adaptation, not a sign of health.
Your body can use fat for fuel but that doesnt mean it should:
- Ketones are made during starvation, not thriving
- Keto mimics famine; in ketosis cortisol rises to maintain blood sugar since there is no glycogen
- Burning fat increases lipolysis which releases PUFA into the blood increasing oxidative stress and suppressing thyroid function

While a ketogenic diet can serve some purposes short term, it is inherently a stress adaptation. Survival mode. Running on fat is like running a car on old motor oil, you can do it, but the engine wears out faster. If you experience cold hands, insomnia, mood swings, losing hair etc. there’s a good chance you’re crashing your metabolism instead of burning just fat.

Severely restricting calories and sugar will eventually lead to chronic stress, thyroid suppression and a slower metabolism. Eventually you gain fat eating less. The classic yo-yo spiral. I am calling it fat-gain instead of weight-gain. Because weight-gain would be a good thing in the context of gaining muscle.

The bottom line is that it’s not just about eating less and exercising more, nor calories in calories out. It’s about nourishing your body with what it needs to function so that it can maintain and even evolve its current structure — Fat loss as a side effect of vitality.

In layman’s terms this means fixing your thyroid can do more for testosterone than injecting endogenous testosterone (steroids).

Yes. We’ve been talking about this for years here.

Peaty iron chelators:

- Lactoferrin from dairy
- Vitamin C from fruit (consume separate from red meat)
- Caffeine/polyphenols from coffee
- Aspirin
- Copper, vit A & B complex from beef liver as iron synergists
- Low pufa diet = low lipofuscin (brown aging spots) which is PUFA and iron oxidation

Peating is basically also iron chelation.

Getting ripped is a really bad idea for most people; they’re basically damaging themselves to temporarily look good.

The first step to becoming lean is to have the hormonal profile and thyroid function to support it, else it won’t be sustainable.

If it’s not a side effect of vitality then I don’t want it.

I’ve been using baking soda and/or coconut oil to brush my teeth for years now and have 0 sensitivity or cavities compared to before:

- natural whitening but less abrasive than whitener tooth pastes
- anti bacterial/fungal
- pH balancing
- anti-inflammatory, soothes gums

Should definitely add some K2 to it as it can strengthen teeth and reduce cavities by up to 90%
This is the way

Just coming off a vegan diet I stumbled upon Dr. Peat’s work around 2015 while I was looking for a Norwood cure. Ofcourse I didn’t immediately start incorporating bioenergetic principles. I first, as a healthtard does, decided to rek myself a bit more with a keto/carnivore diet. It wasn’t until around 2018 that I stopped all fad diets.
(Like losing your hair because you chose to abstain from carbs for example)
