Who are you, Mr. Gandalf?

There are many fascinating channels in the TON Ecosystem—some serious, some lighthearted, some ironic, and others filled with haters or believers. But today, I want to tell you about a channel that truly stands out. It’s called Shadow of Gandalf.

This channel has a unique style all its own. Here, you’ll encounter dwarves, elves, hobbits, and other fantastical creatures. Despite its whimsical tone, the channel’s author—known as Wizard—offers a distinctive perspective on the ecosystem.

As someone who loves Tolkien's world, I’ve read The Lord of the Rings countless times, watched the movies (including the director’s cuts), and immersed myself in Middle-earth. That’s why I enjoy reading posts from this channel, marveling at how the author consistently weaves connections between the TON Ecosystem and Tolkien's universe.

So, if you’re not afraid to dive deep into a world of knights and dragons, I highly recommend checking out Shadow of Gandalf. It’s intriguing, and you may even discover some truly fascinating ideas there!

Gifts – what's up with the cakes?

Recently, I've been following a rather interesting story. One major TON influencer started shilling cakes, and the Telegram community decided to support him. The support has been pretty lukewarm, but it's both amusing and noteworthy (and educational) to watch.

Right now, everything related to gifts is happening in the Tonnel Marketplace Gift bot . If you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the time.

First, you need to understand what these “cakes” are. They’re among the very first limited-edition gifts. At the very beginning, three limited-edition gifts were released with a huge issuance of 500,000 pieces each:

- Cakes (500 stars = $7),
- Cupcakes (350 stars = $5),
- Calendars (150 stars = $2).

Frankly, the idea didn’t really catch on because of the relatively high price and large supply, and also because the concept isn’t very “crypto-esque,” where wacky things like Pepe frogs are more valued. Obviously, the total potential value of these collections is quite large—$3.5 million for cakes, $2.5 million for cupcakes, and $1 million for calendars.

Later, the well-known Pepe and other gifts appeared, each with either a small supply or a low starting price. Each of these gifts multiplied in value several times. For example, Plush Pepe currently has a floor price of $2,700 and a market cap of $8 million. That’s quite a lot, more than the initial market cap of any of the first gifts.

So, the question is: what’s going to happen with the cakes? I should note that cakes can already be “customized,” which is why they’re attracting attention. It’s a cool story similar to what happened with the number-based NFTs (username numbers): you can buy cakes on the secondary market cheaper than the “mint” price. That makes sense, because when you customize a cake, there’s a random element where you might get a cake with some neat characteristics. So, there is trading going on, and the narrative makes sense. However, cupcakes and calendars have been completely ignored so far. But Telegram will definitely allow them to be customized too, and it’s quite possible they’ll be cooler than the cakes. I’d pay particular attention to the calendar, for two reasons:
- It’s simply cheaper.
- There’s more potential for interesting customization mechanics compared to cupcakes or cakes.

In the meantime, some insider info has emerged about what’s going to happen with gifts. I want to draw your attention to something Pavel Durov confirmed at the meetup in Paris: there will be a feature to create your own gifts and set them as your avatar. I talked about the possibility of creating your own gifts here before; I’m glad my predictions were confirmed.

Also, very soon, the gifts will start turning into NFTs. That’s the point at which there could be another pump. It’s not guaranteed—after all, the gifts market primarily lives on Telegram—but it’s a natural next step.

Let’s consider what else might happen with the unsold limited gifts. Obviously, sooner or later, they will all sell out. But there’s a chance that Telegram might at some point just burn the unsold gifts, which would be a logical way to stimulate FOMO.

If that happens, all remaining gifts would automatically increase in price by multiples. As you’ve probably guessed, I like the calendars more. They’ll also be customizable, and their cost is more than three times cheaper than the cakes. As for the cakes, I think a year from now they’ll bring less profit than the calendars, despite these influencers trying to hype them up.

One more important thing: if you want to buy any gifts in any quantity, you can again use the Tonnel bot by going to menu → Trade Gifts → Buy Gifts from Telegram. It’ll be a bit more expensive than going the official route through Fragment and Telegram, but it’s automatic, convenient, you can use TON, and you can buy as many as you want without hassle.

So, think about it—maybe it’s worth buying some calendars. As you can guess, I bought some.
English version

I'm thrilled to introduce the English version of the channel "Boltoshi Boltomoto"! The URL is simple: @boltoshi_en. If you prefer reading information in English, this is your opportunity. Please note that it's a mirror of the original channel, so there won't be any unique content exclusive to the English version. You now have the option to choose whether to read in English or Russian. If you have friends who don't speak Russian, feel free to share @boltoshi_en with them. Love you all, folks! 🔩
Future of Gifts

Gifts on Telegram are Gaining Popularity
Gifts on Telegram have become a major trend lately. Everyone is talking about them. For example, Pepe, one of the most talked-about gifts, has seen its price increase dramatically. One of the rarest Pepe gifts was sold for 20,000 USDT, while the current floor price is 2,200 USDT. This is remarkable considering its initial price was only around 30 USDT (or 2,000 stars).

The leading platform for buying and selling gifts is the Tonnel Gift Marketplace. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it—it's fantastic! A few days ago, there were some technical issues with the platform, but the founder, Mr. Freeman, resolved them impeccably.

What’s Next for Telegram Gifts?
Here’s my take on the future of gifts on Telegram. I believe Mr. Durov will continue to enhance the gift ecosystem. This concept seems to align with his vision—gifts were a feature on VK, and now they’ve made their way to Telegram. It’s likely they will continue to evolve and expand.

Predicted Developments

1. Gifts in New Locations:
Gifts might start appearing in unexpected places within Telegram. For instance, Ton Furniture speculated that gifts could be featured in channel information sections. I find this prediction quite plausible.
2. Future Gift Collections:
While some people predict many new limited-edition gifts at high prices, I think otherwise. I believe we’ll see several new collections based on leaked information, but after that, new collections will become less frequent. The gifts released so far will retain their uniqueness.
3. External Creators and Telegram Integration:
Telegram might open up the gift ecosystem to external creators, allowing them to design gifts and integrate them into the platform. This could even include older NFT collections. However, there’s an important catch—Telegram will likely charge a fee for integration. This could become a significant revenue stream for Telegram, positioning it as a gift marketplace while outsourcing creation to external artists.

Impact on Current Gifts
So, what will happen to the gifts we have now? It’s clear—they’ll become even more valuable due to their uniqueness. The prices we see today may still be relatively low compared to what’s to come.

In conclusion, the quality of Telegram’s current gifts is impressive, and it’s a testament to Mr. Durov and the talented creators behind them. Respect to all involved!

Pump Stars

I came across an interesting story in a channel or chat recently. When Telegram first introduced "Stars," a particularly "smart" individual decided to buy a large amount of them, thinking they would grow in value like a cryptocurrency token. However, Telegram's Stars aren't tokens and don’t function that way at all.

In reality, Stars are simply a mechanism for paying commissions to app stores like Apple Pay. Telegram cannot receive payments directly from users due to platform restrictions, so they use Stars as a workaround. Unfortunately, this comes with a downside: when users purchase Stars, they indirectly pay hefty fees to external providers, even though this fact is cleverly concealed.
