What Hitler and many Germans opposed wasn’t Christ or belief, but the institutional Church, which they saw as promoting Jewish-rooted doctrines like universalism, meekness, and the idea that Jews were “God’s chosen people.” To them, the Church was corrupted and weak.
They embraced Positive Christianity — a redefined, racialized version of faith, stripped of Jewish influence. Hitler didn’t want to destroy Christianity; he wanted to reshape it into a tool for the Volk.
