Freyr (Old Norse "lord") is the god of fertility, peace, prosperity and male power in Norse mythology, the giver of sunlight, clear weather and a good harvest. He comes from the Vanir clan, the son of Van Njord. Freyr's father, Njord, in turn, is a hostage left by the Vanir in Asgard after the conclusion of peace between the Aesir and the Vanir. Freyr's twin sister is Freya.

Naglfar is a ship made entirely of the nails of the dead in Norse mythology. During the Ragnarok, it will be freed from its earthly captivity by a flood and will sail out of the realm of the dead, Hel. On it, the army of the Jotuns, led by Hymir (according to the Younger Edda) or Loki (according to the Elder Edda), will sail to the field of Vígríðr for the final battle with the Aesir. It is also believed that the ship made of nails is too heavy to stay afloat. Before Ragnarok, there will be a three-year winter, when the seas freeze to the bottom, and Naglfar will arrive on the ice, like on a sled. Snorri Sturluson in "Gylfaginning" describes the Norse custom of cutting the nails of the dead and burning them so that the ship could never be created.
