This is going to sound like an "Everyone clapped" story, but I'll tell it anyway.
Poker room in a heavily non-White locale. About six people sitting around chatting before game starts. Long-haired libertarian type is talking about colleges indoctrinating kids, evil bankers, etc.
Leads to a question from the Mexican dealer about WWII.
Longhair says, "Hitler was the good guy, obviously." Articulates the case and there's nothing resembling objection from the people sitting there.
There has been an impressive, and I would say astonishing, shift in what is possible in public conversation in the last several years.
