🎙️ Russian Olympic Committee:

‼️8️⃣9️⃣5️⃣ ‼️ Alexander Ovechkin has just set the NHL’s all-time goal-scoring record!

🔝 In a recent regular season game, the Russian forward for the Washington Capitals scored the 895th goal of his career, officially surpassing Wayne Gretzky to become the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer.

❗️ Fittingly, Ovechkin reached this milestone against the New York Islanders – the same team Gretzky was facing on March 29, 1999, when he set what many believed would be an unbreakable record.

🏆 That record stood for 26 years… until today.

🔥 Interestingly, this is the fourth major milestone Ovechkin has hit in games against the Islanders. In January 2020, after scoring on Semyon Varlamov, he entered the NHL’s top 10, surpassing Mario Lemieux. In March 2021, he climbed to 6th by passing Phil Esposito. Then in March 2022, he moved into the top 3 by overtaking Jaromir Jagr.

⚡️ Now, Ovechkin stands at the very top of the all-time goal list. He’s also the only active player in the top 10. The next closest active player, Sidney Crosby, sits in 18th place with 622 goals – far behind. Ovi’s record is likely to stand for a long time.

✊ And the journey isn’t over yet. With a full season left on his contract with the Capitals, there’s every reason to believe he’ll raise the bar even higher.

👏 Huge congratulations to Alexander! Wishing him health, strength, and continued success. The Gr8 just keeps getting gr8ter.

👉 Top 10 NHL Goal Scorers of All Time:

1. Alexander Ovechkin — 895
2. Wayne Gretzky — 894
3. Gordie Howe — 801
4. Jaromir Jagr — 766
5. Brett Hull — 741
6. Marcel Dionne — 731
7. Phil Esposito — 717
8. Mike Gartner — 708
9. Mark Messier — 694
10. Steve Yzerman — 692
🎙 Statement by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Mogilevsky, at the Ministerial Segment of the 28th UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development:

📍 April 7, 2025, Geneva

🇷🇺 Russia currently stands among the top ten countries in the world in terms of research and development volume. Maintaining the high results and ensuring the country's technological leadership are enshrined in the Russian Presidential Decree on the National Development Goals until 2036. According to forecasts, total R&D expenditure is expected to reach at least 2% of GDP by 2030. Currently, the consolidated budget for Russian science stands at 15 billion USD.

🎯 To achieve these goals, we follow the updated Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation through 2030. It is based on three key principles:

First
– maintaining the leading role of the state in funding fundamental research;

Second – ensuring the human resource potential of Russian science;

Third – developing advanced research infrastructure.

🔬Russia has established shared-use centers for scientific and technological equipment, operates 17 world-class research centers, and has completed or is finalizing construction of eight unique “megascience” facilities. These scientific centers are open to researchers from around the world.

👩‍🔬 Our country has more than 130,000 female scientists, accounting for nearly 40% of the total number of researchers. This makes Russia one of the global leaders in gender equality in the scientific and technological sphere.

🥼 The central annual event of Russia’s Decade of Science and Technology is the Congress of Young Scientists. Its aim is to promote and support the involvement of youth in scientific activities. It is a large-scale event: last year, more than 7,000 participants from Russia and 63 foreign countries took part. This year, the V Congress will be held in Sochi at the end of November.

🌐 In addition to the Congress, the "NAUKA 0+" Festival will take place this autumn across Russia and in various countries worldwide. It is an educational project dedicated to the latest scientific discoveries that are shaping our future. Within the framework of the Festival, outstanding scientists deliver lectures on their research and innovations. I take this opportunity to invite you all to participate in the programs of both the Congress and the Festival.

📖 FULL STATEMENT
Joint statement delivered by a Russian representative during the General Debate on Agenda Item 3: Promotion and protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development, 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council:

📍 March 14, 2025, Geneva

🎙️ I have the honor to deliver this statement on behalf of a group of 41 countries.

🌟 This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War. That war turned into the greatest tragedy for the peoples of Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. A threat to the very basic principles of civilization was averted at the cost of tremendous joint efforts and grave losses.

🇺🇳 This historic event lead to the creation of the United Nations as well as of the entire system of contemporary international relations. Those who fought against Nazism were able to overcome their differences for the sake of preserving humanity. The same cooperative spirit guided the elaboration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that had an enormous impact on shaping the current world order and contemporary international law.

🌐 The objectives set for the UN and the UDHR are still relevant. Among them are strengthening of an equitable world order based on the principles of humanism and mutually beneficial cooperation, effective maintenance of international peace and security, promotion and protection of human rights, as well as sustainable development in the political, socioeconomic, cultural and other spheres.

🕯️ The recognition of that Victory as a common and enduring value for the whole of mankind is essential for the consolidation of the international community to address dangerous modern challenges and threats. The memory of the Victory over Nazism, fascism and militarism is crucial for preventing attempts to revise the outcomes of the Second World War and the Judgements of the Nuremberg Tribunal and the International Military Tribunal for the Far East. It is also important in light of the principles and objectives of the UN, including countering human rights violations and crimes based on racial, national and ethnic origin and the spread of intolerance and related contemporary forms of discrimination.

❗️ Our common goal must be universal respect for human rights in order to stimulate the creation of a more equitable world order which would take into account the multipolarity of today’s world and traditional values of humanity.

🇷🇺 1️⃣1️⃣ years ago, on March 16, 2014, the historic referendum was held in Crimea – residents of the peninsula unequivocally voted FOR reuniting with their historical homeland, Russia.

🗳 Participation in the referendum was both voluntary and free. An impressive 96.77 percent of the Crimean population voted in favour of becoming part of Russia, with a blasting turnout of 83.1 percent. In Sevastopol, 95.6 percent supported the move, with a turnout of 89.5 percent.

The Crimean referendum was monitored by 135 international observers from 23 countries, alongside 1,240 observers from Crimean organisations, and was reported on by 623 journalists representing 169 media outlets.

🎙 From the briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (March 13, 2025):
On that day, Crimean citizens made a free, conscious and independent choice regarding their own and their children’s future. This was a fair and long-awaited decision for Crimeans as well as for all citizens of our country.

✍️ Following the free expression of will by the Crimean people, the Republic of Crimea signed an international treaty with Russia on March 18, 2014, formalising its accession.

Over the past 11 years, the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol have become fully integrated into the political, legal and economic framework of Russia. Significant infrastructure projects have been undertaken, including the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, the Crimea-Kuban gas pipeline, the Tavrida federal motorway, Simferopol airport, and hundreds of other healthcare, educational, social and engineering facilities.

☝️ Interfaith accord and harmony are preserved in the peninsula, interests of all ethnic groups are taken into account. A complete national and cultural autonomy for the Crimean Tatars has been established, with their representatives participating in local government. The Crimean Tatar language has been recognised as a state language alongside Russian and Ukrainian.

Economic breakthrough and overall advancements achieved over these years, coupled with an unprecedented rise in living standards, the development of infrastructure, and the established interfaith peace in the peninsula, all reaffirm that the choice made by the Crimeans 11 years ago was the only correct one.

Foreign Ministry Statement on Kiev regime’s latest barbaric attack on Russian civilians

In the early hours of March 11, the neo-Nazi Kiev junta once again made its cowardly terrorist nature clear to everyone by attacking Russian regions, including Moscow and the Moscow Region, with a barrage of UAVs carrying projectiles.

According to the Defence Ministry, duty air defence facilities downed 337 drones, including 126 over the Kursk Region, 91 over the Moscow Region, and 38 over the Bryansk Region, as well as 25 over the Belgorod Region, and 22 over the Ryazan Region. Unfortunately, multiple casualties, including children, were reported.

The Investigative Committee of Russia has swiftly launched an investigation into this crime. The circumstances of the attack are being established. All those involved and responsible for this and other terrorist attacks on our land will be held accountable.

The shelling of population centres in many Russian regions, as well as ruthless and indiscriminate killings of civilians, are indicative of the agony of the neo-Nazi Zelensky-led regime, which has bogged down in terrorism, lawlessness, corruption, and cynicism. Overcome by impotent rage, and in an effort to please its Western handlers, the regime strives to kill and maim as many innocent people as it can.

Without a doubt, this drone attack was planned in advance and timed to coincide with today’ s US-Ukraine contacts on conflict resolution held in Saudi Arabia. It was also a message to new OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu, now in Moscow on a working visit. Using these barbaric methods, the Kiev clique, which is suffering daily defeats on the battlefield, is trying to prove its ability to negotiate “from a position of strength.”

The Zelensky regime, which has lost its grip on reality, has clearly showed a glaring lack of political will for achieving peace and negotiated settlement of the conflict. It remains obsessed with the idea to defeat Russia, widely using cynical methods of terror and seeking to draw its allies into its aggressive actions.

❗️ Clearly, the blame for this attack lies with the countries that continue to stubbornly and irresponsibly flood Ukraine’ s ruling clique with lethal weapons, thereby enabling its bloody acts.

The anti-humane Kiev regime has made clear as day its neo-Nazi and terrorist nature, impotence, and inability to achieve and honour agreements. It has long deserved to be unambiguously and resolutely denounced by all conscientious governments and international entities. Further supporting it is tantamount to being complicit in crimes committed by the Zelensky-led junta.
🇷🇺🇺🇸 Key Outcomes of the Meeting Between Russian and US Expert Groups:

1️⃣ In accordance with the agreement between the Presidents of Russia and the United States, the Russian and US sides have agreed to implement the "Black Sea Initiative", which includes ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, the non-use of force, and the prevention of the use of commercial vessels for military purposes, through the organization of proper control measures, such as inspections of such vessels.

2️⃣ The US will facilitate the restoration of access for Russian exports of agricultural products and fertilizers to global markets, reduce the cost of maritime insurance, and expand access to ports and payment systems for carrying out such transactions.

❗️ Note: Points 1 and 2 will enter into force after:

– The lifting of sanctions imposed on Rosselkhozbank and other financial institutions involved in supporting international trade operations for foodstuffs (including fish products) and fertilizers, including their reconnection to SWIFT and the opening of necessary correspondent accounts;

– The removal of restrictions on trade financing operations;

– The lifting of sanctions on foodstuffs (including fish products) and fertilizer producers and exporters, as well as the removal of restrictions on insurance companies working with cargoes of foodstuffs and fertilizers;

– The lifting of port service restrictions and sanctions on vessels flying the Russian flag engaged in food and fertilizer trade;

– The removal of restrictions on the supply of agricultural machinery and other goods involved in the production of foodstuffs and fertilizers (including fish products) to the Russian Federation.

3️⃣ Russia and the US have agreed to develop measures for implementing the agreement between the presidents of the two countries on a ban on strikes against energy infrastructure in Russia and Ukraine for a period of 30 days, starting from March 18, 2025, with a possibility of extension or withdrawal from the agreement in case of non-compliance by either side.

4️⃣ Russia and the US welcome the good offices of third countries with a view toward supporting the implementation of the energy and maritime agreements.

5️⃣ Russia and the US will continue working toward achieving a durable and lasting peace.

🎙️ Statement by Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova regarding yet another terrorist attack by the Kiev regime against a film crew of Channel One (Russia):

⚡ On March 26, in Russia’s Belgorod Region near the Ukrainian border, a vehicle with a Channel One film crew, who was on an editorial assignment, hit a mine planted by militants of the Kiev regime.

◾ As a result of the terrorist act, military correspondent Anna Prokofyeva was killed, and cameraman Dmitry Volkov sustained serious injuries.

🕯️ We express our condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Prokofyeva, who carried out her professional duty until her last breath. We wish Mr. Volkov a speedy and full recovery.

◾ The Kiev regime has unleashed real terror against Russian journalists and military correspondents, relentlessly hunting them down with murderous intent. In just the past few days, four Russian media workers have been killed in a series of targeted attacks by Ukrainian militants. Many civilians - including members of the media, whom international law also classifies as civilians - have suffered serious injuries.

◾ In every case, Ukrainian neo-Nazis deliberately tracked down unarmed journalists and their crews and attacked them with the intent to kill - often using Western-supplied weapons, provided by so-called "defenders of press freedom and champions of journalist safety".

❗ We call on all responsible governments, the professional journalistic community, and human rights organizations to strongly condemn the systematic attacks by the Kiev regime on Russian journalists and its other crimes against the civilian population committed by the Zelenskiy clique.

❗ We demand an immediate response to the murder of Anna Prokofyeva and other representatives of Russian media from relevant international bodies – first and foremost, the Director-General of UNESCO, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.

❗ We demand that they take comprehensive measures to stop the Ukrainian neo-Nazis from carrying out attacks on members of the press, as required by their mandates. Silence in the face of such flagrant brutality – or attempts to deflect with meaningless statements – will be seen by us as deliberate complicity with the Kiev regime in continuing its hunt for journalists.

❗ All those responsible for this and other crimes will be identified and brought to justice, receiving the deserved and inevitable punishment.

📑 The International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis chaired by Maxim Grigoriev, has prepared a report "Kiev regime Atrocities against Captured Russian Servicemen".

In February 2025, the International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis interviewed thirty-three Russian servicemen who had been tortured in Ukraine.

❗️ Released prisoners describe the crimes and brutal torture to which they were subjected by Ukrainian servicemen, members of the Security Service of Ukraine and their accomplices.

▪️ D.S.Rychin testifies: "Alexei Soprykin and I were taken prisoner near the village of Peschanoye. I had a bullet wound, and Alexei had multiple shrapnel wounds. Alexei, unarmed, was shot by a Ukrainian fighter"

▪️ S.V.Tarkov: "Two boys could still be helped. I still managed to help one of them to rewrap his leg. The Ukrainians came through and shot them. The wounded were killed before my eyes"

▪️ D.N.Agashin tells: "For a kilometre and a half we were led by the Ukrainians. They shot one person. Torture began on the following day"

▪️ S.A.Levin says that before they started torturing, one of the POWs was killed: "I said, there is a wounded fighter. And I just heard him being shot dead by the Ukrainians. There were two ofus when they handed us over to the 'Right Sector'. They brought us to some base and shouted: "Take offyour clothes. " They started beating us with sticks and metal pipes. Our eyes were blindfolded"

▪️ S.V. Prilutsky says that, like Nazi troops during the Great Patriotic War, Ukrainian servicemen shot the wounded: "When I was taken prisoner, Ukrainians shot a heavily wounded man. They killed him. He was my fellow serviceman. On the way they killed another one. He lay down and said: "I can't walk. And theyjust shot him"

▪️ A.V.Malinovsky says that the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only did not hide the practice of killing Russian prisoners of war, but also used it as one of the means of terror: "They said that as long as they had us in the hands of Ukrainian intelligence, we were not yet prisoners of war. They could shoot us right there. They said: "So you are nobody, you don't exist".

▪️ S.V. Kozlov testifies: "Ukrainians put me on the electric chair. A battery, like from a car, and electrodes were attached to my penis and lips. And they tortured me all day long. I was also beaten with metal ropes, hit on the head with a ladle. They set the dogs on me and left scars on my back"

▪️ E.V. Nekrasov also speaks about it: "In the camp people told me that they were tortured with electric shocks and put on the electric chair. " Drunken Ukrainians shot them with pistols, shot them in the knee and legs. They would get drunk and start abusing them. Ukrainian servicemen practiced cutting off, drilling, shooting limbs and breaking fingers ofRussian servicemen"

▪️ M.V. Likhachev describes how he was personally tortured: "My finger was cut off three times with pruning shears used to cut branches. Four teeth were pulled out with pliers. They put me on an electric chair. They set the dogs on me"

🎙️ Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on historical revisionism in Western countries:

📍 March 30, 2025, Moscow

Question: Why are there ongoing efforts today to rewrite history, downplay, or even deny the role of the Red Army and the Soviet people in the victory over Nazism?

💬 Minister Lavrov: I believe it’s a traditional position of the West – to weaken its competitors. The Europeans dominated for about 500 years, primarily because they wanted to conquer as much land and subjugate as many people as possible. In fact, all the great tragedies of humanity before 1939, including World War II, were initiated by Europeans. From colonialism, slavery, the Turkish wars, World War I, and World War II – all were attempts by whichever European power was rising at the time to suppress its rivals.

⚔️ There’s nothing new in competition – states and peoples have always competed. But the methods used by Europe to suppress its competitors have been horrific. These "instincts" are deeply embedded in today’s European society – especially among the elites currently in power in most EU and NATO countries. Although the opposition begins to develop some understanding of the unacceptability of such actions and policies.

🇺🇦 The instincts of the European ruling class are clearly manifested in what is happening in Ukraine – in the war that the West has unleashed against the Russian Federation through the hands of the Kiev regime and at the cost of Ukrainian lives. Just like in the Patriotic War of 1812 when Napoleon gathered almost all of Europe under his banners, or Hitler, who after conquering most of Europe, enlisted the French, Spaniards, and many other European nations to fight on his side. The French carried out punitive operations, and the Spaniards participated in the blockade of Leningrad. This is a well-known fact.

❗️ The trend of rewriting history and equating Nazi war criminals – recognized as such by the Nuremberg Tribunal – with the liberators of Europe has been present for quite a while in the Baltics, Poland, and several other EU countries. This is a trend that must be firmly resisted. For example, Russia’s exhibition in the former Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp has been closed for several years now. We are not allowed to update our exhibition or participate in events there. Astonishingly, this year, at the ceremony marking the anniversary of the camp’s liberation, those who turned it into a death camp were present, but those who liberated it were not.

🇺🇳 I am particularly concerned by the behavior of the UN Secretary-General – not because he as a person is close to ideals, but because of his role. He is a Portuguese citizen who has worked in international organizations for much of his life and should understand what it means to be the UN Secretary-General in accordance with Article 100 of the UN Charter. It states that he should not seek or receive instructions from any government and must remain neutral and work solely toward the goals of the UN Charter. Yet Mr. Guterres, speaking at the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, didn’t once mention the Red Army, even though this memorial day exists because of the heroism of the Red Army. That’s a sad trend.

🛡️ This is not a new phenomenon stemming from their anger over the special military operation. It’s a longstanding trend, and we must fight it. We are doing so, primarily at the UN. With the help of our expert community, we’re organizing seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and declassifying documents. We have no right to let this truth be forgotten.

🇷🇺🇧🇾 Russian President Vladimir Putin on a potential Russia-Ukraine ceasefire during his joint press conference with the Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko:

📍 March 13, 2025, Moscow

🕊️ Firstly, we are grateful for the international efforts aimed at achieving the noble mission of ending hostilities and human losses. Secondly, we agree with the proposals to cease hostilities.

❗️ However, we proceed from the understanding that such a cessation must lead to a long-term peace and eliminate the root causes of this crisis.

🇺🇦 Now, regarding Ukraine's readiness to halt combat operations. You know, the US-Ukraine meeting in Saudi Arabia may outwardly appear as a Ukrainian decision made under American pressure. But in reality, I am absolutely convinced that the Ukrainian side should have been the one urgently requesting this from the Americans, given the situation developing on the ground.

⚔️ The enemy force that invaded the Kursk region is now isolatedcompletely cut off and under full fire control. The Ukrainian command has lost control over its troops inside this incursion zone. And if complete physical encirclement occurs in the coming days, then no one will be able to get out at all. There will be only two options: surrender or death.

👉 Under these conditions, I believe it would be highly beneficial for the Ukrainian side to secure a ceasefire, even if only for 30 days. And we are in favor of it, but there are nuances:

❓ If we cease hostilities for 30 days, what is supposed to happen to the Kursk incursion zone? Are we supposed to simply let them go after they have committed numerous crimes against civilians? Or will the Ukrainian leadership order them to lay down their arms and surrender? How will this be handled? It is unclear.

❓ How will other issues along the entire front line – stretching almost 2,000 kilometers – be resolved, as Russian forces are advancing on almost all directions of the battlefield.

❓ How will these 30 days be used? Will Ukraine use them to continue forced mobilization? To receive additional weapon shipments? To train newly mobilized units? Or will none of that take place?

❓ How will control and verification mechanisms be established? How will the monitoring be organized?

❓ Who will issue the ceasefire orders? And how reliable will these orders be?

❓ Who will determine where and by whom a potential ceasefire agreement has been violated?

🤝 That is why, in principle, the idea is a sound one and something we certainly support. Yet there are questions that need to be discussed first.

Joint statement delivered by a Russian representative during the General Debate on Agenda Item 9: “Racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related forms of intolerance, follow up and implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action”, 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council:

📍 March 27, 2025, Geneva

🎙️ I have the honor to deliver this statement on behalf of a group of countries.

👏 Next year we are commemorating the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, an embodiment of the world’s commitment to tackle the scourge of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.

☝️ Yet a quarter of a century later these relics of the colonial past still exist. We are deeply concerned by the proliferation of hatred around the world, which stigmatizes and dehumanizes persons based on their race, ethnicity, language, nationality or origin.

🔥 The worst thing is that hate speech and hateful acts are often caused by the lack of political will to combat them by the authorities of certain countries, that regularly speak about democracy, human rights, equality and justice, but constantly ignore the Durban outcomes.

❗ We are deeply concerned by the unprecedented scale and depth of discrimination unleashed by the authorities of those countries based on racial, ethnic and linguistic grounds. Widespread practices include the refusal to provide educational, medical, banking and other services, seizure of property, to say nothing of the physical assaults, threats and insults.

We condemn and reject in the strongest terms such acts and emphasize once again our firm position that actions aimed at advocacy and manifestation of racial, national, ethnic or linguistic intolerance flagrantly violate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, core international human rights treaties and the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.

🕊️ We call upon all States to take measures at national, regional and international levels to achieve the goal of peaceful and harmonious co-existence, when individuals enjoy equal rights and mutual respect without distinction by race, ethnicity, language, religion or origin.

🇺🇳 Finally, we urge the Human Rights Council and its Special Procedures as well as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to speak out against racial, national, ethnic and linguistic intolerance and attach greater importance to finding ways of eliminating this disgraceful phenomenon, consistent inter alia with the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview to the 'New Regions of Russia' magazine (March 10, 2025)

Read in full

❓ Question: Which general international and foreign political conclusions – both positive and negative – can Russia draw after three years of the special military operation? Did we get the very “experience, the son of difficult errors,” in the words of the classic?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: The last three years became the “moment of truth” of a kind. Following the launch of the special military operation to protect the people of Donbass and Novorossiya, the collective West showed what it is worth. Both the infamous rule of law and basic rules of decency were cast aside. <...>

A new global divide was formed de-facto with the western minority on one side, and the World majority on the other. These are all countries, as well as people of goodwill in the West, who stand for the establishment of a multipolar world supported by a balance of interests.

I believe the main lesson is as follows: we must rely on ourselves in main issues of the functioning of the country and our trusted friends who stayed with us in difficult times.

<...>

❓ Question: Do you support the opinion that US President Donald Trump must take an active participation in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and become a sort of a peacemaker?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: I would not like to run too far ahead. As President of Russia Vladimir Putin said a number of times, we are always ready for talks. Yet, our national interests must be guaranteed.

The root cause of the conflict in Ukraine must be eradicated – the President highlighted this aspect of the utmost importance in his telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on February 12.

I would like to remind you that, first and foremost, we speak about eradication of threats to security of Russia from the Ukrainian and the western direction, which emerged following the NATO expansion to the east and the necessity to cease the practice, which the Kiev regime adopted, to exterminate everything which is somewhat connected to Russia and the Russian world. <...>

It is too early to make far-reaching conclusions from what we have just heard from Donald Trump’s administration, but it is encouraging. The President of the United States admitted himself that the NATO expansion and attempts to get Ukraine involved in it became one of the root causes of the conflict.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio speaks about the multipolarity of the modern world and the need to respect the interests of all states, both large and small. For the first time in three years, US diplomats voted jointly with Russia and our associates in the UN against the odious resolution of the General Assembly promoted by Kiev and its patrons from the European Union. <...>

❓ Question: This year, Russia will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. <...> Are we doing everything right to fully preserve the state’s historical memory of the past and the present?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: The 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is the pinnacle event of the year. The Foreign Ministry, as well as other government agencies, is preparing to celebrate it in the most fitting manner, paying tribute to the memory of the heroic deeds of our predecessors. <...>

Despite the information war launched by the collective West, Russia’s voice is heard clearly on the international stage. The world understands that falsifying history and undermining spiritual and moral values will result in deteriorating statehood and the loss of sovereignty. Ukraine is a tragic example of this. <...>

This is why the appeal of the CIS Heads of State to the peoples of the CIS and the international community on the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 was adopted on October 8, 2024 in Moscow.

The year of 2025 in the CIS was declared the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism.
Right of reply by a Russian representative during the General Debate on Agenda Item 4, 58th Sesson of the UN Human Rights Council:

🤐 The whole world is witnessing how the so-called "enlightened Europe", which lectures others on international platforms, is all too willing to abandon the ideals it once held sacred in favor of political expediency and narrow self-interest. In the European Union, which boasts of its commitment to "freedom of speech", the information space is being systematically cleansed of alternative viewpoints, while independent media outlets are being blocked or shut down.

🇱🇻🇱🇹🇪🇪 In the Baltic states, the level of Russophobia and blatant discrimination against the Russian-speaking population has reached shocking levels. A "repressive" migration policy is being systematically implemented, aimed at expelling all Russians. Our compatriots are being deprived of the right to educate their children in their native Russian language, to have equal access to basic services, and to participate in electoral processes – all for the sake of creating some kind of a "mono-state".

🗳️ Speaking of electoral processes, in several Eastern European countries, the cancellation of election results expressing the will of their citizens and the refusal to register obvious frontrunners in elections under obviously fabricated pretexts have become routine occurrences.

🇺🇦 We have repeatedly spoken about the rapidly deteriorating situation in the sphere of human rights protection and promotion in Ukraine. The systematic violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms has become the norm there. Blatant indifference of international structures has led to the Kiev regime continuing to demonstrate inhumane treatment of civilians and open disregard for international law, as it carries out massive shelling of cities and populated areas using Western-supplied weapons.

🇪🇺🇨🇦🇦🇺 In EU countries and Canada, the rights of peaceful protesters are regularly violated (take France for example), while racism, sexual violence, human trafficking, and the cruel treatment of migrants thrive. Scandals over the mistreatment of indigenous populations continue to surface in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Canada. Meanwhile, the authorities of Australia flatly refuse to learn from their past, continuing to systematically violate the rights of indigenous peoples.

🔥 Ultra-nationalist and neo-fascist groups are once again gaining momentum on the basis of intolerance. Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia are rampant in France, Germany, Spain, and Canada. The latter continues to hypocritically serve as a refuge for former Nazis of all stripes, which is especially disrespectful in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory over Nazism.

📖 FULL STATEMENT
🇷🇺🇺🇳 On March 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Vershinin, heading the Russian interagency delegation composed of representatives from relevant ministries and interested companies, held another round of consultations in Moscow with UNCTAD Secretary-General, Rebeca Grynspan, and UN experts.

🌾 An extensive exchange of views took place on the issue of global food security, with a focus on efforts to ensure the implementation of the Russia-UN Memorandum on normalizing Russian agricultural exports. The key importance of unimpeded access for Russian fertilizers and food to global markets was emphasized, as their deliveries have been seriously impeded by the unlawful unilateral Western sanctions.

❗️ In this context, issues of safe navigation in the Black Sea were also considered. The parties discussed parameters for the implementation of Russian humanitarian initiatives, including the gratuitous transfer of mineral fertilizers, which were arbitrarily blocked in EU ports, to the struggling countries.
