A 30-year-old driver slammed his SUV into a crowd of Filipino festivalgoers in Vancouver, Canada, Saturday night, killing at least nine people and leaving many more injured, according to authorities.

The black vehicle caused a trail of carnage at a Lapu Lapu Day festival block party that left bloodied and injured victims strewn across the road along with broken debris.

Horrified witnesses could be heard screaming “Oh my God!” in videos of the aftermath — as the suspect’s crushed vehicle could be seen stopped in the street with its airbags out.
“There’s a baby over there! There’s a baby under the truck,” a person who took a video of the scene could be heard saying.

The driver of the car — identified as a Vancouver man — is in custody, VPD stated. Authorities have not provided information on the number of victims.

Vancouver police said it was “confident” that the incident was not an act of terrorism.

Interim police Chief Steve Rai said the suspect was known to police in “certain circumstances” and that “everything is on the table” regarding the driver’s motive.

💥GOP Rep. James Comer knows that President Trump's Cabinet secretaries are locked in a fierce, epic struggle to get rid of those within the federal agencies they run who are resisting Trump and his policies – and as chairman of the powerful House Oversight Committee, he's lending some help.

"Whether it's Brooke Rollins at Agriculture or Pam Bondi at the Department of Justice, they're having to fight a lot of internal battles that really haven't made it into the mainstream media yet,” Comer recently told Full Measure.

One such effort is the freshly launched committee task force, led by Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, whose mission is to unmask holdouts who defied Trump’s first-term directives and blocked the release of thousands of JFK documents.

Comer also revealed that even the Trump Justice Department under Bondi is stalling the release of Epstein documents to his committee.

“I heard that 10,000 times over the past two years: ‘Well, we can't turn that over,'" Comer said. "'There's an ongoing investigation.’ We're hearing that with the Epstein files now in this administration,” he said.

Full Measure asked in response: “Who's telling you that?”

The Kentucky lawmaker said: “Well, whoever replies to our letter or subpoena, that's what they say. ‘There's an ongoing investigation.’ They say, ‘We're gonna release it. We're in the process of releasing it. We’ve just gotta make sure nothing is released that compromises the ongoing investigation.'"

Beyond just prying open classified files, Comer has the sprawling Deep State in his sights, accusing it of casting a shadow over government operations and throwing up roadblocks.

“We have a Deep State list, [and] we believe these employees need to be deposed at the very least to see, you know, to answer basic questions like: 'Why did you cover up this?' 'Why did you provide this statement?' 'Why did you sign the letter saying that laptop was Russian disinformation when you knew darn well it was not Russian disinformation?’ We’ll have public hearings, we'll do whatever, but we need to work with the Department of Justice,” he says.

Comer also said the Justice Department has yet to give the green light to his plans to deeply investigate such topics.

I think it’s time for the citizen journalists to release more on Epstein.

If they’re going to kill us, they’ll have to kill us all.

Coming soon…

In the first coordinated operation between U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and local law enforcement, the Department of Homeland Security launched a large-scale operation in Florida to find and detain about 800 undocumented immigrants, according to a report from the Tampa Bay Times/Miami Herald.

The effort, nicknamed "Operation Tidal Wave," targets people in Miami-Dade and Broward counties and the cities of Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Stuart, Tallahassee and Fort Myers, according to records seen by the Herald. All of them are areas with high immigrant populations.

"The records do not explain in detail how the federal government chose its targets, but do say that authorities are trying to detain 'criminal individuals or immigration violators' that have final deportation orders," the media sources said.

In its first four days, the operation led to about 800 arrests of undocumented immigrants, according to ICE, which posted on X that the "first-of-its-kind partnership between state and federal partners" represented "a massive, multi-agency, immigration enforcement crackdown."

"Florida is leading the nation in active cooperation with the Trump administration for immigration enforcement and deportation operations!" DeSantis wrote on X.

XX-XY Athletics founder Jennifer Sey sat down with OutKick's Dan Dakich last week on Don't @ Me with Dan Dakich and the two touched on an array of topics including the allegations that Nike is funding a study seeking to find out how much surgery, therapy and medications are required to make it "fair" for a biological male to compete against women.

The company had been silent on the matter at the time of Sey's appearance, but has since said the study "was never initialized" and "is not moving forward," without providing any additional clarification.

Sey said that she believes the decision to bankroll a study like this was likely made years ago and that previously, the company would likely have been more than happy to tout their involvement.

Not anymore.

The XX-Xy Athletics founder went on to say that she believes the highest levels of Nike may not have been aware of the study.

"I believe Nike is like, ‘Oh, crap; now we have to defend ourselves against this? We're just going to ignore it, put our heads in the sand and pretend it's not happening,’" she said.

Sey said she thinks the best course of action would be for Nike to be transparent about the study, even if it means admitting that they had been involved.

Toyota Motor said it is exploring the possibility of investing in a potential buyout of key parts supplier Toyota Industries - a buyout that reportedly could cost $42 billion.

"We are currently exploring various possibilities, including partial investment," the automaker said in a filing with the Tokyo stock exchange on Saturday following reports about the possible buyout.

Bloomberg News reported on Friday that Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda and his founder family have proposed acquiring Toyota Industries in a possible 6 trillion yen ($42 billion) deal.

Toyota Industries, which has a market value of 4 trillion yen, said in a statement it had received proposals about going private through a special purpose company but denied it had received a buyout proposal from the Toyota chairman or the Toyota group.

Two sources familiar with the matter said Toyota Industries is considering tapping Toyota and its group companies as well as major banks to fund a buyout. They also said the proposal did not come from Akio Toyoda or the Toyota group.

Federal law enforcement has been cleared to detain and arrest Venezuelan nationals suspected of being a member of the Tren de Argua gang without a court or administrative warrant, a directive from the Department of Justice said.

According to a memo obtained by USA Today, agents are instructed that they can take those they suspect are members of the gang, which has been classified as a terrorist organization by the Trump administration. The memo outlines the procedures federal agents should follow to carry out the arrests under the Alien Enemies Act, which Trump invoked earlier this year.

The suspect who was arrested Saturday in the theft of Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse is in the country illegally, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia said in an interview with NBC News.

Ed Martin said a second suspect who also is in the country illegally is being sought by law enforcement.

It is not believed the suspect targeted Noem because she was the Department of Homeland Security secretary, Martin said.

“There is no indication it was because of that. It was frankly, it was a nice looking purse,” Martin said, in a recorded telephone interview.

In the call, Martin said Immigration and Customs Enforcement is now involved.

“President Trump’s direction to us is we charge these folks that are here illegally and we prosecute them, as well as deport them when need be, you know, as soon as that can happen,” Martin said, adding, “What I can tell you is he won’t be back on the streets in America.”

The person who took the bag knew what he was doing, Martin said.

🤡Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) claimed Friday on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” that Trump administration officials could be arrested for “interfering with a legal proceeding” or “kidnapping.”

Raskin said, “I regard it very much within the prism of what we’ve been dealing with over the last month, which is an intense assault on judicial independence. They have been disobeying federal court orders systematically. They have incurred criminal contempt findings in the courtroom of Judge Boasberg, a conservative Republican, a judge. They have been demanding the impeachment of judges who rule against the lawlessness of the Trump administration. There are now more than 90 preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders against the chaos that’s been unleashed on the country by the Trump administration.”

He added, “Now they’re arresting judges, and the first felony criminal charge brought against Judge Hannah Dugan in Wisconsin is interfering with a legal proceeding, which is essentially what they’ve been doing all along. What Judge Boasberg is about to hold them in criminal contempt for and has found that there is probable cause for criminal contempt is that they deliberately ignored and defied his order not to take off in those airplanes headed for El Salvador and not turning the airplanes around. So on the logic of this arrest of Judge Dugan, all of the people in the Trump Administration who participated in defying that order by Judge Boasberg themselves could be arrested for interfering with a legal proceeding and perhaps other criminal charges like kidnapping.”

U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., is the latest Democratic politician to use rage rhetoric to rally voters despite an alarming increase in political violence on the left. Calling for an “uprising,” Wilson also lashed out at the Laken Riley Act.

Wilson was visiting the ICE Krome Detention Center in Miami and declared:

“So I’ve been giving out the phone numbers to the House of Representatives and to the Senate. It’s one number that number you call and you threaten it, and you say, this is wrong. This is not America. This is not what we stand for. We need a change. You have to do that. It’s going to take the people. We’ve done it.

We need the people. We needed an uprising where people are taking to the streets and the phones and writing letters. That’s what we need.”

She is not alone.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Cal.) said “We are here to fight back.” Sen. Cory Booker (D., NJ) called on citizens to “fight” and declared “We will rise up.”

Not to be outdone in the rage fest, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., TX) yelled, “We are gonna be in your face, we are gonna be on your a–es, and we are going to make sure you understand what democracy looks like, and this ain’t it.”

Rep. LaMonica McIver (D., N.J.) added: “God d—it shut down the Senate!…WE ARE AT WAR!”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., called for Democrats to fight  “in the streets.”

AXIOS: The Trump administration has quietly been holding discussions and consulting outside experts as it considers options for potentially restarting dialogue with North Korea, a senior U.S. official and three additional sources familiar with those discussions tell Axios

North Korea has made alarming nuclear advances since President Trump and Kim Jong-un held two dramatic but ultimately failed summits. While nothing appears imminent, Trump has made clear he'd like to reconnect with Kim — perhaps face-to-face — and his national security team is preparing for that scenario.

North Korea is relatively low on Trump's priority list for now, but the world's newest nuclear power rarely stays off the international agenda for long.

"We are convening agencies to understand where the north Koreans are today. A lot has changed in the last four years. We are evaluating, diagnosing and talking about potential avenues, including engagement," the senior U.S. official said.

The "closed-door discussions" involving think tank experts and current and former U.S. officials "suggest the Trump administration is sizing out different scenarios for another Trump-Kim meeting," said Andrew Yeo, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Trump's "many positive statements" about Kim over the past six months suggest he's interested in that path, Yeo added.

A former senior U.S. official said members of the administration were doing some "initial planning," knowing that it might only take "one flowery letter" from Kim to catch Trump's attention, "then you're off to the races."

The Swedish ambassador to North Korea, who represents U.S. interests in the country, visited Washington last week for consultations with U.S. officials and experts

“[His Majesty’s Ship] St. Albans is at very high readiness to operate whenever, and wherever, the nation needs us in the protection of our home and the waters surrounding it,” the responding ship’s commanding officer Matt Teare said.

“HMS St. Albans is currently operating as part of a NATO Task Group and the regularity of Russian activity around the United Kingdom reinforces the vital importance of continuous integration with our allies and partners,” Commander Teare said.

POLITICO: A new club is coming to Washington — and you probably can’t get in.

Donald Trump Jr., megadonor Omeed Malik and several other investors are launching an invite-only club that costs more than half a million to join with an exclusive post-White House Correspondents’ Dinner gathering, according to an invite obtained by POLITICO and two people with knowledge of the venture, granted anonymity to discuss the private organization.

The “Executive Branch” is the brainchild of Malik and the president’s eldest son, and their partners at conservative fund 1789 Capital. It will be located in Georgetown.

Their goal, the people familiar with the plans say, is to create the highest-end private club that Washington has ever had, and cater to the business and tech moguls who are looking to nurture their relationships with the Trump administration.

Gerasimov added that under a “comprehensive, strategic partnership” between the two countries, North Korean soldiers had provided “significant assistance” to Russia’s army in defeating Ukrainian forces.
