Yet even with all that Wotan has done to guide us along his stark path, I do not believe we would be where we are today as a Folk, without men like Stephen McNallen. He has brought the Old Ways to life again for us Men and Women of Vinland for over fifty years, and played an integral role in the revitalization of true Folkish worship. With his latest book The Spear he takes the accumulation of those many years in the struggle, and distills them into a concise manual for Right Action.
This manual is built around the activities and pursuits of the Wotan Network which is- A group of men and women working to invoke the might of the Germanic God Wotan for the Awakening of the European-descended peoples. With the understanding that this Awakening is utterly necessary for our survival, our dignity, and the high Destiny that is ours... if only we will grasp it! This is done in an engaging format for both the novice and lifelong member of the struggle, which incorporates a wealth of knowledge with practical applications to achieve results for our Folk. I personally found that the Runic way in which he lays out the steps gives the book a remarkable depth, especially for those who are looking to bring their will to power in their current surroundings. Which must be our ultimate goal. Far too much is said on what is wrong with where we stand, or what someone else should be doing, but I truly respect those that take action and allow it so speak for what is to be done by us who follow the demands of Wotan.
This is what truly sets The Spear apart from most other books, and the main reason I was certain it needed to have a review in The Answer. This book takes the Virtues of our Noble Heritage and uses them to guide the reader towards a truly worthy life. A life which embodies the pursuits of our Gods and Goddesses as we walk through Midgard, taking us in the True direction of the unstoppable Gungnir. For naught in this world is easy, but this life was gifted to us by Wotan himself. So how could we not give every last moment of it back to him by joining the struggle for the existence of his children? Herein lives the essence of all that we are as Noble Sons and Daughters of Wotan. We are those who have heard the ancient call and fettered our entire selves to that wind-rocked tree. Thus, binding ourselves to the front lines of this eternal struggle for true ascendance as both individuals and as a Folk. May we find the strength to ride this Terrible Tree until we finally grasp that which we so longingly searched for. True independence for our Folk.
I will end this with the words of Mr. McNallen as I do not believe I could say it better, and I strongly urge you to heed his words. Seize your Destiny once and for all so that you may feast amongst the Heroes with the great Spear God by your side. Only then will our children rejoice in a future where they are safe and secure for generations to come. Hail Wotan!
