For many people, specific aromas and tastes evoke cherished memories of the holiday season. For me, it's rosettes. They transport me back to my grandmother’s kitchen where she lovingly prepared them. What I wouldn’t give to have just one of her rosettes again. ❤️

Embroidery 🪡
This piece features traditional Handanger embroidery motifs as well as runic elements. I chose the Othala rune as a nod to my Nordic roots and the love I have for my ancestral homeland. Hvitsøm is a craft many foremothers before me have practiced, including my own great-grandmother. I was fortunate enough to learn from an incredibly talented woman who was a master in the craft. My work is my promise to her to keep our ancestral craft alive.
