We must grow stronger. We must grow wiser. We, as a Folk, must prove that we are worthy of life, worthy of victory, worthy of our kinship with him - and worthy of our high Destiny.
Okay, maybe you are an agnostic, or an atheist, or a Christian. If you want to think of Wotan as an archetype in the Jungian unconscious, as a mythic symbol but nothing more, fine. As for me, he has proven his existence over many decades. The numinous reality that is Wotan to the Germans, or Odin to the Norse, or Woden to the English, looms over my life.

Wotan (Odin, Woden) is a god of wisdom, continually searching. He hung on the World Tree to win the runes - those keys to the mysteries of the universe. He stole the Mead of Inspiration, another tool for seizing higher consciousness, from the giant Suttung. In the tales of the Norsemen and the Germanic tribes, he is a wanderer, an explorer, dedicated to Becoming. He is no relic from a bygone age, he is as up to date as tomorrow's headlines.
We at Wotan Network do not live in the Migration Age, or the Viking Age...Like you, we live in the Twenty-First Century.
It is no surprise that the Folk who bear Wotan in their very genes led the way to space. It was Robert Goddard, an American of British descent who created the liquid-fueled rocket. The American Rocket Society and its counterparts in Britain and Germany were likewise on the leading edge of rocket science. Men like Wernher von Braun, Willy Ley, Herman Oberth, and others made space travel possible. This is not an accident. We are the sons and daughters of Wotan - a Faustian race, always seeking, striving, and exploring.
In the roar of the rocket headed for space, we hear the voice of Wotan. He is in the heart and soul of his Folk.
Wotan, be with us in our outward reach!...Our descendants will dance among the stars.

WOTAN, "MEANINGFUL COINCIDENCES", AND A TRIP TO A WAR ZONE!

The skeptic thinks it futile for Wotan Network to call upon Wotan (an allegedly non-existent deity) for the renewal and victory of our Folk. In this post, as in the previous one, I will explain why I disagree.
In my previous post, Why Wotan, I stated that whenever I encounter amazing coincidences involving Wotan, I need to consider that he is trying to tell me something. "Coincidences" (Jungian "synchronicities") are simply the manner by which Wotan speaks to the soul of those who follow him. I promised my readers that I would relate one or more such occurrences, and I will fulfill this promise in a few moments.
Quite some years ago, I was a freelance writer for a popular military magazine. (Anyone out there remember Soldier of Fortune?) I decided to go to South Africa and, from there, to make contact with the anti-communist forces under Jonas Savimbi, in Angola. I decided to query the Elder Futhark runes on the issue. The twenty-four runes were put in a leather bag, carefully randomized, and had no tactile clues. I pulled out a rune called "Perthro." The next day, I tried it again, with all the usual precautions - and drew the same rune. The day after, I repeated the procedure and - you guessed it! - got "Perthro" again. By the way, Perthro translates as "dice cup," which makes it all weirder still!
The odds of my drawing Perthro three times is one in 24, times 24, times 24, or one chance in 1,382,400. My point here is that runes are powerful, and Odin/Wotan is an actual force or, better yet, a personality. (And, you'll be glad to know, he's on our side...We are his Folk, and he is Folk-father.)
Odin or Wotan, of course, is the God of the Runes...and he was giving me a puzzle, a challenge. I felt He was telling me to take the risk, that it would serve a good end and in some way and to some extent aid our Folk. Or maybe he just thought I would learn something from the experience. I started arranging my trip to South Africa.

OKAY, TRUMP WON...NOW WHAT?

The revival of Germanic religion in the modern world, and specifically the return of Wotan to the spiritual landscape, has strong social and political implications. Like all native and tribal religions, it is bound to the history and welfare of a particular ethnos and ethos. Many of us were hoping that Donald Trump would win the presidency, and the fairy godmother of the political realm came through for us. That's the good news; I for one support many or most of his major policy decisions. But politicians are...well, politicians. Trump in particular is a deal maker; the fact that he often makes deals that I like is not the point. In particular, his adhesion to the Israeli state and to the hugely immoral "settler" movement disgusts me.
We should support Trump when he is right, and oppose him when he is wrong. But in the long run, no politician will save us. We who follow Wotan, or Odin, or Woden - He of Many Names - must remain vigilant, practice our faith, honor our Gods, and be nobody's fool.

WOTAN...ON THE PEAKS !

....."I was almost at the top of the mountain. Our lungs and legs were being tested to the max. Gasping, we hit the switchback - and finally, we saw the stair steps leading up...way up...to what had been a forest ranger outlook. Success! We had worked hard to get there, but the view was amazing! Seemingly endless miles of mountain, lake, forest, and plain. Pouring mead into the horn, we toasted Wotan, and our Folk, and our own prowess and will. We unfurled our "Wotan Network" banner, and took the photos that would go far and wide on social media, especially the Wotan Network Activity channel"...
Another, less athletic version -
....."The kids were loving it. We were on the top of the hill - the highest terrain in our area. Not exactly the Sierras, but it was what we had, and it was lovely. The birds were singing and the sun was shining. We poured the mead into our horn, and apple juice into the horn for the kids. We toasted Wotan and explained to them what we were doing, and why. Photos, and a short summary, went to the Wotan Network Activity channel, of course. Our friends who aren't on Telegram send their account over to Wotan Network and let the folks there post it"...
You, and/or your family and friends, could be doing things like this! Good exercise, good friendships - and good for our Folk!

REMEMBER THE USS LIBERTY!
On this date - June 8th - in 1967, the USS Liberty was attacked in international waters by fighter aircraft and torpedo boats belonging to the Israeli government. Thirty-four American sailors were killed and 171 others wounded.
Israeli explanations were, to say the least, inadequate. The Liberty was an intelligence collecting vessel monitoring activity in the area. The American flag was properly flown, and the attack was preceded by more than six hours of intense low-level surveillance by Israeli photo reconnaissance aircraft, which buzzed the ship as low as 200 feet directly overhead. This was not a case of mistaken identity. The Israelis jammed radio frequencies in an apparent attempt to hide what they were doing, and they made every possible attempt to sink the vessel. Motivation? Presumably, they were up to something they didn't want Uncle Sam to know about; speculations vary. American politicians covered for them...as usual.

Why did I start Wotan Network? Why Wotan instead of the better-known Odin?

Everyone, it seems, knows about Odin. Viking themes are familiar. Television series, movies, and other cultural tools praise the vikings, but their Germanic cousins on the Continent get a lot less attention. Everyone, it seems, knows about Odin - but "Wotan?" Who the heck is he?
I chose to invoke the Father of the Gods as "Wotan" rather than "Odin" because Wotan has successfully manifested as a god in modern times. He has won fame, or notoriety, in the writing of Carl Jung - whose analysis predicts that Wotan will emerge in the future, not necessarily in his furious aspect, but in his wisdom. His presence in the past makes his presence in the days and years to come all the easier. Obviously, He who is Wotan can show himself however he is needed, but there is at least precedence, and he will show himself as he is required by the historical needs of his Folk.
Wotan, God of the Germani, the Goths and the Cherusci, God of our Folk down to this day, show us your might AND your wisdom! WOTAN MIT UNS!

Everyone, it seems, knows about Odin. Viking themes are familiar. Television series, movies, and other cultural tools praise the vikings, but their Germanic cousins on the Continent get a lot less attention. Everyone, it seems, knows about Odin - but "Wotan?" Who the heck is he?
I chose to invoke the Father of the Gods as "Wotan" rather than "Odin" because Wotan has successfully manifested as a god in modern times. He has won fame, or notoriety, in the writing of Carl Jung - whose analysis predicts that Wotan will emerge in the future, not necessarily in his furious aspect, but in his wisdom. His presence in the past makes his presence in the days and years to come all the easier. Obviously, He who is Wotan can show himself however he is needed, but there is at least precedence, and he will show himself as he is required by the historical needs of his Folk.
Wotan, God of the Germani, the Goths and the Cherusci, God of our Folk down to this day, show us your might AND your wisdom! WOTAN MIT UNS!

I usually don't get into politics in the normal sense of the word, but sometimes I feel it is essential. This is one of those times...and yes, it is relevant to Wotan Network, and Wotan's re-emergence on the world scene..
The United States has just gone through a somewhat traumatic election. Donald Trump, barring any of a number of possible dangers, will be sworn in as President of the United States. But does that mean that the coalition of self-hating White people, leftist ideologues, and assorted perverts will disappear? Is this ultimate victory for Western civilization? Can we sit back, hoist a beer, and relax?
Well, no. Those of us who love our Folk, and who hail Wotan as our Alfather, must understand that we have won only one battle in a protracted spiritual war. We must continue our personal evolution, invoke the Holy Powers of our ancestors, and work to bring the might and wisdom of Wotan to our brothers and sisters.
