Same Strategy - A property/business is closed, left to stand empty with no upkeep. Then it's announced to convert to residential which will conveniently be the ONLY viable use.
Note the comment on the article:
"Just what the West End needs more flats NOT, it’s already a HMO ghetto without adding more..."
It's perfectly clear they're trying to pack as many residential units as possible into the area, but no new jobs or businesses.
"The proposals seek to retain all historic features of the building and are the least required in order to secure the sustainable long-term use and thus preservation of the building.”
As you can see once again, the building will look pretty which somehow justifies conversion to residential.
But once converted to residential, it will no longer be accessible to the general public. So who is this being preserved for exactly???

Has to be seriously asked why they allowed a supermarket to be built at this location in the first place if it causes so many traffic issues.
So you come from Lancaster to this Aldi, then you leave but told you have to head the other way to the Asda roundabout and come back on yourself in order to return to Lancaster.
Wastes fuel and creates more unnecessary traffic higher up.
Or is this what they want? To deliberately create build-ups of traffic in certain locations then use that to justify restrictive traffic measures?
Also blaming the motorist for the issue rather than the road layout and badly designed infrastructure.
Notice it's the motorists that will pay for this, not the ones that setup the problem to occur in the first place.
A case of Problem-Reaction-Solution where the motorist is labelled as the problem & the solution is to punish them.

This isn't Morecambe or Lancaster, but a good example of what happens when they apply "Green" policies and "Green" infrastructure.
It doesn't enhance, it doesn't beautify, it doesn't make life better. All it does is destroy. It restricts and chokes the life out of town centres. Everything has to be changed in the name of Net Zero and Climate Change. It forces businesses to close and turns our economies into dead zones.
This is the reality of Green Net Zero in practice. It eradicates normal life and prosperity. 👇👇👇
