We have some great news to share in the case of our friend and comrade Brandon Russell-
It has been revealed that, prior to the trial, the primary rat, whose testimony was seemingly essential in Brandon's phony conviction, was surreptitiously paid upwards of $10,000 for his lies, in addition to the $100k+ that he was already paid. This extra payment was not publicly disclosed, and no reason has been given for it. Brandon's attorneys were not told about this payment.
Brandon's attorneys have already filed a motion for a re-trial, and even if this is not granted, this suspicious payment is excellent grounds for an appeal.

Friends! We would like to start this post off by apologizing for the lack of updates regarding the donation campaign. However we chose not to make updates until we had a better grasp on the situation. We'd also like to update you on Ben's health situation. As you may recall, back in early January he had to undergo surgery. He's since recovered and doing well.
Next, we wish to express our deepest gratitude to all the people who have donated to the campaign from the start and since the last update in particular. You contribution has been invaluable and you are about to know why.
We've never had an official deadline for the campaign because in truth the sooner the appeal could be filed the better. Had we raised the entire £5-9k on day one that would've been the golden scenario. Obviously unrealistic, but this shows you the urgency of the matter.
So here are the news. Between the £2.7k raised with your help, Ben's earnings in prison, Alexandra's own money and the money she borrowed... they collected the full £9k to launch the appeal! The payment had been made, however there was an unexpected issues in communicating with Ben's legal team. Weeks had passed without any indication if work on filing for Ben's appeal had actually begun. Yesterday Alexandra was told that there were concerns in arguing the case for appeal, and to cover all their bases they would require the court transcripts from Ben's conviction, which is something that, once again, costs money. Around £500, but perhaps a bit more.
Therefore we would like to announce that the donation campaign will continue, and the FBR Team will be urging Alexandra to keep it going. For one, we urgently need to collect at least £500 more for the transcripts. Next, we want to help make Ben's family whole and get them back the money that is theirs. We'd also like Alexandra to be able to return the money she had borrowed. Finally, should the appeal inexplicably incur any other additional costs we would like Alexandra to have a "war chest" to fall back on, which is the money that can still be raised through this campaign.
We implore everyone not to give into the notion that this is somehow "done with". The reason the appeal is so close to launch now is in part thanks to all of you, without those £2.7k we'd be delayed by who knows how long. Nevertheless it is also because the urgency forced Alexandra to borrow money elsewhere. Things just can't wait and the sooner we hear from the court about the potential appeal the better.
So it is our sincere belief that the campaign must continue! We hope the spirit of Friendship will persevere and more donations will keep coming in. As for our part - FBR will keep you up to date on all the developments with the appeal.

As you can see he isn't in the NSN uniform and this wasn't a "protest" or anything of the sort. We would never protest a military remembrance ceremony as we honour the fallen. We however attend them frequently, peacefully and solemnly, precisely because we honour the fallen.
This is absolutely disgusting from Victoria Police. There have been many absurdly unjust arrests and acts policing against us over the years, but this is probably the most disgusting act yet. Arresting an Australian citizen for venerating his ancestors at the temple of remembrance - desecration, sacrilege.

With the arrest of Tom Sowell and lads it should be pointed out that, this was just a simple celebration, as they all came as Australians to celebrate Australia with strictly national flags and maintained discipline throughout the whole event. They were not shouting slurs or being vulgar but just peacefully showing their love of homeland and it is for that reason I belive that the Victorian government shut it down, the demo was something too many normal Australian men wouldn't have a problem with therefore it made it most dangerous. I think we have seen this example happen before with other organizations. The point is when a org is disciplined, catering to the roots of their soil and not being total edgelords is when the system gets rattled the most. Simple and straight forward is more in this game.

This trial sets really nasty precedent that people don't realize.
During the trial, the FBI admitted through agents and informants. Brandon had basically no real knowledge of this plot by his girlfriend Sarah. He never agreed to anything specific. He just was in a romantic relationship with someone that was involved. Their only evidence was his beliefs and him making edgy posts on here that Brandenburg v. Ohio protects. Which had nothing to do with this plot.
Didn't matter since the jury wanted to go home early despite the trial supposed to be ending on Thursday. Federal jurors get paid $50 a day, so being a juror means you're paying out of your own pocket. It's designed this way so odds are against you from day one. This is why Brandon lost. 12 Angry Men was a movie based around this problem mind you.
Brandon is very lucky to have the ACLU and his lawyer backing him in appeals. Since we know from personal experience, appeals are like climbing Mount Everest in the justice system. They burn insane amounts of time and money by design.
All we can say is this sets extremely nasty legal precedent that merely knowing someone involved in an entrapment scheme can get you charged too. Guilty by association rather than involvement.
A lot of people aren't appreciating how bad legally this is for allowing more leeway in prosecuting someone in the movement on the basis of belief. It's very unprecedented.

Friends! Today we have an update on Ben's current situation.
He's been transferred earlier this week from HMP Frankland to HMP Swaleside, which took 3 days total with overnight stays in other facilities, which had to have been tiring.
As some of you may recall he had been temporarily moved from Frankland once before for about a month in April to May of last year. He was moved to a prison that is situated closer to his family so that he could catch up on missed visitations. That facility was HMP Swaleside.
While he could have been moved to a prison that is closer still to his family, Swaleside is, comparatively speaking, the closest that they've ever been since his unjust incarceration. We are all overjoyed to hear this, as visitations had been a colossal undertaking in the past for Alexandra and the kids, and without a doubt a great source of stress for the entire family.
However, these are proving to be turbulent times for them as their resolve is tested to the limit.
Please donate to the campaign page as we are nearly at the 500 pounds needed to pay for the court transcripts, another 60 or so pounds will do it.

The trial came to an abrupt end despite having been scheduled to continue for the rest of this week, because apparently the jurors had prematurely come to a unanimous decision that Brandon is guilty during their deliberations. Deliberations that lasted less than 30 minutes.
While we admit to having a limited understanding of legal proceedings, this caught us off guard as we've never heard of such a thing being possible, let alone actual instances of it happening.
What's more, we can't help but wonder if this outcome wasn't the direct result of another, now truly unprecedented and legally questionable decision by the court - allowing prosecution to call on anonymous witnesses in disguise.
According to a clause in the 6th amendment to the US Constitution one enjoys the RIGHT to confront witnesses brought against them, also known as the Right of Confrontation.
Just some novice research into the matter yields following results:
From our humble perspective this trial was mismanaged if not outright skewed against Brandon from the start and makes it feel very reminiscent of how Ben had been convicted as well.
Brandon's legal team will be filing appeals and we sincerely wish them the best of luck, if possible they should take it all the way to the US Supreme Court, as it appears to us that Brandon's constitutional rights had been violated in this matter.
Let true justice be done.

According to a clause in the 6th amendment to the US Constitution one enjoys the RIGHT to confront witnesses brought against them, also known as the Right of Confrontation.
Just some novice research into the matter yields following results:
In some cases, with extenuating circumstances, the identity of certain people involved can remain confidential. However, it would be unconstitutional for a witness to remain anonymous during a court trial.
If a witness was allowed to stay anonymous while testifying or even wear a disguise in the courtroom, it could inadvertently send a message to the jury that the defendant is dangerous and likely guilty of the alleged crime.
From our humble perspective this trial was mismanaged if not outright skewed against Brandon from the start and makes it feel very reminiscent of how Ben had been convicted as well.
Brandon's legal team will be filing appeals and we sincerely wish them the best of luck, if possible they should take it all the way to the US Supreme Court, as it appears to us that Brandon's constitutional rights had been violated in this matter.
Let true justice be done.
