Those of you pagans who think all of the gods and fairies are nothing more than a metaphor for something else, than how would you explain that to this Irish family who’s oral history says they’ve literally descended from the seal people. If you are an atheist who thinks all human races descended from one source and that we all evolved from apes than to you this family’s oral history about being descendants of the seal people will sound absurd, but to me it seems more absurd to believe that we all evolved from apes

I’m resharing this old clip I cut out of a fairy documentary where an Irish family that goes back many generations have their own family folklore stating that their family descends from the famous seal fairy people.
Today we are made to believe that all of these folktales mean nothing but fairytales, but folklore is oral history of our ancestors.
I’m having a hard time believing that our ancestors were just making up lies.
Today we are living very different lives from our ancestors. We are disconnected from nature, surrounded by all kinds of technology and bio technology. And so we can’t assume to know everything about the past, or about reality.
And so the point I’m making with all these posts is that these fairy folk people they do have a physical dimension to them and are not just supernatural/spiritual. They have a physical dimension, but they are different from humans, they are something more than just physical human

In our ancestor’s folktales we learn that In their day fairy folk and gods have physically interacted with them. Some humans even married and had children with these non-human races. I know I shared this video before, but I wanted to present an example

I’ve always had somewhat of an issue with calling faerie folk, elves and other non-human races “spiritual beings“, because what does that really mean.
In our modern times they have always been called spiritual beings, but what does that make then humans non-spiritual beings? As humans we possess a soul does that not make us partially spiritual?
I feel the same way when people talk about spiritual realms, because again what does that mean. Are they implying that earth is not a spiritual realm? It’s not like the earth is void of spirit.
So we know that organic life is not void of spirit and our earthly realm is also not void of spirit, and we also know that those who we refer to as “spiritual beings” like fairies, elves, gods, dwarfs, etc.., they have a physical side to them because they have physically appeared to our ancestors, and interacted with humans in their physical form.
I think there’s just something about these non-human races that we do not understand, something that we are not aware of. I believe instead of thinking of them as spiritual beings we should probably think of them as multi dimensional beings, beings that could travel through different worlds.

There are supernatural “physical” entities that “inspire” or “breathe” emotions, feelings, thoughts into the heroes, in addition to the “air” strictly speaking that we breathe in order to survive. Homer and Hesiod could thus understand the verses as being “breathed” into their thumos or phren by the Muse (or Muses) via a material substance. This is in fact explicitly implied at Theogony when Hesiod states that the Muses breathed a divine voice into him and Homer implies the same thing at Odyssey when we are informed that the gods planted the pathways of song into the singer Phemius’ lungs before he began his song.
