Musician-turned-opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has confirmed his intention to run for president in Uganda's 2026 elections, challenging the long-standing incumbent, President Yoweri Museveni, who has been in power since 1986, marking nearly four decades of rule.
The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has expressed his determination to challenge Museveni, who is seeking a seventh term in office, citing the overwhelming desire for change among Uganda's youth, who make up 80% of the population.
