After a decade of torture, trauma, and solitary confinement, Palestinian detainee Ahmad Manasra has finally been released from Natha Prison in the Negev Desert by Israeli occupation authorities. But his freedom came at a heavy cost.
Ahmad was just 13 years old when he was arrested in 2015, along with his cousin Hassan Manasra, who were accused of a resistance operation in occupied Al-Quds.
Inside the prison walls, Ahmad was subjected to relentless psychological and physical tOrtur3, medical neglect, sleep deprivation, months and years in solitary confinement, denied visits, court delays, and appeals denied.
Over the past several years, a global campaign was launched calling for Ahmad Manasra's release due to his deteriorating mental health caused by the trauma he experienced as a child in detention. Amnesty International also called for his immediate release in 2022.
Today, after being released, Ahmad Manasra, who entered Israeli prisons, is not the same as Ahmad Manasra, who was freed.
