This is an interesting one. Why? Not just because it sounds like fun, but because of the little bit of history behind the potential adversaries.
This won't be like the shooting of grouse in the spring or hogs in the summer. These bastards are hardcases, ruthless ne'er-do-wells who don't mess around. How did they become this way? Where did they come from?
The truth of the matter is that Mexico is not, despite what is written in its lawbooks and coinage, a federal republic. It is an oligarchy, more like a table or collective of principalities, with the federal government being the central prince and the cartels being the other princes. There are many places in Mexico where the authority and power of the federal government is no more than a scrap of paper. As for where these other princes came from, they were always there. When the Viceroyalty of New Spain was established, it drove the Aztec princedoms underground. They always resisted Catholic authority from the beginning. When the Mexican Inquisition pressed them, they learned to hide Aztec paganism behind Catholic iconography. You can see signs of this even in LA, if you know what to look for.
When the First Mexican Empire fizzled out, and the degenerate partisans of Benito Juárez glorified being "native", they set the stage for the underground pagans to return. Perhaps it would have died there, but when the Masons persecuted the Church (resulting in the Cristiada) followed by the liberals working so hard to restore to the pagans their language and customs, the ruin was complete.
So if this ends up happening and you hoist the black flag, let your conscience be clear. These aren't good Mexicans, nor Catholic men. They're vicious killers because they are the descendants of cannibals and demon worshippers. They are the enemies of Imperial Mexico and by extension of the true Spain.
