"Be prepared.
Set your goal and never change it. Close your eyes. Create an image for yourself and fix it. In the darkness thus accustom yourself to see by a light which is not the sensible light. This ethereal light carries with it the first secret of the Work. Become impassive before good and evil, just, absolute, crude. Learn to will without desire, without fear, without regret. Create in yourself a power to do without tiring: continuous, cold, hard and, at the same time, labile, plastic. To desire well, to desire widely, to desire always without stopping; and never to desire, this is the Secret of Strength. Get rid of the vines of voluptuousness, of drunkenness and passion: reduce yourself to a simplicity that wants. Use everything and abstain from everything by your will. Make yourself master of your soul. Create a resistance. The mobile obeys the immobile and the powers of nature underlie whoever knows how to resist them. Arrived at the condition of desiring nothing and fearing nothing, there will be very few things of which you will not become master; but do not enjoy anything, if you have not first conquered it in yourself. Strength is not given. Take it. Bear. Free and balanced, strong, calm and pure, having killed desire, he expresses: DESIRE. This is the first teaching. The threshold is opened to you.
THE STRENGTH IS IN YOU."
Julius Evola.
