Ordre Nouveau was a nationalist-revolutionary, anti-Marxist organization founded in France in 1969, whose main goal was ‘to unite the diverse forces of the far right within a broad-based “front”’, ideally imitating the Italian MSI. Residents of the Balkans boycotted supermarkets to protest rising food prices and worsening living standards. The boycott was first announced in Croatia, followed by Slovenia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia.
Croatia started 2025 with one of the highest inflation rates in the European Union. According to Eurostat, the annual HICP inflation rate rose to 4.5% in December from 4.0% in November, making the country the third highest in the EU after Hungary and Romania.
In Serbia, product prices remain the highest in Europe, according to Effectiva. In Slovenia, the average cost of food has increased by 44% over the last ten years. Residents of Bosnia and Montenegro also express dissatisfaction with the significant increase in food prices, noting the deterioration in the availability of basic goods.

In Zemunik against communism
ZADAR — Among the defenders of Zemunik Donji, we also met a few Poles, brave young men who wanted to fight at one of the most difficult points on the Croatian front, so they reached Zemunik Donji. Andrzej Olejniczak from Lublin and Trzezbor Plekutowski from Pabianica told us that their main motive for coming was that they are Catholics, so they want to defend their brothers in Croatia, and that they hate communism, against which they are also fighting here in Zemunik.
