Where can you find it? The first thought, of course, is Russia. Introduced to Russian soil from Italy, here this detail has taken root so well that many people associate it not with Western Europe, but with Russia.
The second option that few would think of is Greece. During the Francocracy, many features of Italian architecture have were adopted into local architecture, including this one, but the number of examples is small.
But you certainly don't expect to see such a thing in Egypt! The history of Deir el-Muharraq monastery is extremely ancient, and for most of this history it was fortified. The active development of the monastery complex nowadays led to the construction of new walls - this time decorative, and although not everything turned out well - these gates are definitely not bad.
