Now! St. Martin de Corleans (Aosta): one of the most important megalithic areas of Europe.
2-3 April are the anniversary of the Longobard migration to the Cisalpine region and Italy. They represent the last Indo-European adjunct to the Northern Italian ethnogenesis and its role is relevant for the whole country. Furthermore, at the time of their coming, even if nominally Christians, they preserved a lot of Pagan traditions. For this reason we reshare the article written by Andrea Anselmo for Via Electri concerning the "furor" of the Longobards warriors.

🌑 ♈ Today is the new moon of April and the moon is in Aries.
This year the new moon is near the Finnish Day of Sacred Groves (hiisienpäivä) that is celebrated on 28 March. The day was initiated by the Finnish organisation Taivaannaula, and it has been celebrated since 2013. The day originates from a letter dated to 28.03.1748, in which a Finnish pastor laments the fact that people in his parish still frequent groves held sacred, even though the trees were ordered to be cut down. This is the reason Taivaannaula chose this date as the day that celebrates a part of the Finnish tradition that survives even to this day 🌲 🌲

Marzanna, Morena and Mara are various names for a female puppet still held in parades today in Slavic folkloric festivals (especially in Poland), who is then burned or drowned. According to scholarly theories of the last centuries, Marzanna represents either a deity of the vegetation or the goddess of winter and death who is chased away to propitiate spring.
In recent years, another hypothesis has been put forward by scholars, that Marzanna was more similar to a spring deity (perhaps also in connection with the planet Venus according to some Belarusian beliefs, or with the reflection of the IE goddess of dawn), who is introduced into the realm of the dead only later (by abduction) and therefore is not originally the goddess of winter and death. The hypothesis is fascinating and not entirely contrary, for example, to the fact that Prosperpina in the Italic-Roman tradition is also called Queen of the Afterlife, being the abducted wife of Dius Pater (Lord of the Underworld).

☀️ Via Electri Spring Equinox 🔥
This year on 23 March, for the fifth time, we, as wanderers on the Amber Way celebrated the moment in which darkness and light are equal.
May the strength of spring come and give us new life! 🌿☀️
Užgavėnės (2/2):

After taking the Morė outside the village it pulled off of the wheel and burnt, torn or drowned. There is general merriment. The liberated circle, the Sun, which emanates divine light, is carried respectfully through the village and it is proclaumed that Death has been banished and the world has been liberated, and everyone congratulates each other and wishes each other good luck and prosperity. Finally, the Sun Wheel is placed in a revered sacred place or put on a pole where the Summer Solstice - Rasos - will be celebrated. Everyone feasts and becomes strong in a ceremonial feast, which grows into a general merrymaking involving the whole community. The meal, of course, also has a ceremonial symbolic meaning. Pancakes, for example, are directly linked to the image of the glowing circle of the Sun..."
Užgavėnės (1/2):

Užgavėnės is one of our most archaic traditional celebrations - the end of darkness and winter, the victory of spring and light. Although nowadays the date of Užgavėnės is linked to the Christian date of Easter and takes place 7 weeks earlier, in the past there was no such link. A. J. Greimas wrote: "The Christian era has made the date of Užgavėnės a movable day, formerly celebrated at the time of the vernal equinox. Around that time, the appearance of the young crescent moon heralded the beginning of the New Year.

It was believed that at this time, as in Advent, ancestral ghosts walked the earth and that a harmonious relationship with them would lead to an abundant and good harvest in the future. Ritual acts are performed on this day to mark the victory of the light-sun over the dark-"morę". This is linked to the earliest Indo-European myths.

We recommend Jonas Vaiškūnas' article on the deepest, oldest roots and connections of Užgavėnės (https://alkas.lt/2021/02/16/j-vaiskunas-uzgaveniu-paprociai-mena-svarbiausia-indoeuropieciu-religine-svente/?fbclid=IwY2xjawI_3PRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHXaW0pL2U7vMbTtkU3mj5nuACx4KnNJMqY2mu6pGmkBOupqGqRIV8K7uMg_aem_edv3K127qdrc92cOsXKMhw). We share an excerpt:

Hungry for the source of divine light, the Sun, imprisoned by the lord of darkness, masqueraders transformed into mythical ancestral heroes, chase a creature in a special chariot, embodying the powers of darkness, who has trampled underfoot the revolving chute, symbolising the Sun, the Light, the World. The procession attempts to knock the Plague off the wheel. Along the way, they visit farmhouses and perform certain ceremonial actions.
🌕♍️ The full moon of March, which this year was yesterday, on the 14th, was in Virgo. It is the last winter moon and nature starts to be reborn out of the snow ❄️
UPDATE: Despite the ongoing legal warfare from the Greek church and authorities, the new temple of Zeus and Pan in Kalliani has been completed and inaugurated.
Evangelos Bexis has been ordered to appear in court, and has stated that he intends to defend pagans’ rights.
Hail the Gods!

🌕♌️ On 12 February is the full moon, which is in Leo.
Day of Veles
According to the Slavic Tradition, 11 February is the day sacred to Veles. The God attested in ancient Rus' as Volos and reconstructed as Veles for the Western Slavs has a plurality under his dominion: fields, cattle, magic, music and trade.
One etymological theory connects the root *vel with the Proto Indo-European word for 'meadow, lowland', meaning the Underworld or the lowland of the Dead Ones, whose lord Veles would be. This is also suggested by Lithuanian vėles 'spirits of the dead'. Enigmatically, Veles/Volos is not mentioned among the idols erected by knyaz Vladimir in his restoration of the Rus' religion in the late 10th century.

👉Next week the conference 'JULIUS EVOLA, Father of the rebirth' will take place in Turin, organised by Societas Hesperiana, Scvtvm Torino and Solco della Tradizione.
In this occasion the speakers will investigate what the relationship was between Evola and the re-emerging of the Roman and Italic Tradition in the contemporary age.

🗓Sunday 9th of February

✍️ C.so Allamano 40/17, Turin

⏰ H 15.30

🏛Everyone is welcome! 🔥
