Care to learn who the real winners of the "war on drugs" are? Check out my latest:

"For decades, the United States has purported to wage a highly publicized "War on Drugs," portraying it as a noble crusade against the scourge of narcotics plaguing American streets and destabilizing nations abroad. Billions of dollars have been funneled into law enforcement, military operations, and international partnerships to combat cartels, traffickers, and kingpins, all the while a “prison industrial-complex” bloomed into a multi-billion dollar industry annually (See CoreCivic and Geo Group revenue reports.)

Yet beneath this rhetoric lies a troubling paradox: allegations persist that the very agencies tasked with fighting this war—that unholy trinity of the CIA, State Department, and Pentagon—have, at times, exploited drug trafficking to fund their own covert agendas, both at home and overseas.

The truth is that the so-called "War on Drugs" isn’t some “noble crusade” to save America from the scourge of narcotics. It’s a sham. A meticulously engineered operation, birthed in the shadowy bowels of Langley, designed not to stop drugs, but to harness their economic and destructive powers.

Far from a conspiracy theory confined to fringe circles, these claims have surfaced in congressional reports, declassified documents, and firsthand accounts, painting a picture of a war where the lines between enforcer and enabler blur."

My latest takes a look at the current state of the war against censorship, Marco Rubio's recent actions, and the threat posed by the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA)

I tend to try to do my darndest to keep my mind and soul as nonpartisan as possible, but on this issue I actually agree with Marco Rubio’s assessment and actions— believe me, that is not something I had written on my 2025 bingo card.

While the Trump administration has serious, glaring free speech issues right now (particularly relating to criticisms of a certain country in the Middle East), this is a big step toward dismantling the international, interagency network that has essentially functioned as a weapon of mass destruction in the context of cognitive warfare against the populations of the world by the ruling class.

This is one of those few big wins that transcends partisan politics, but to play devils advocate to my own point, whether or not the Rubio State Department won't simply retool things to create a new right-wing populist friendly censorship regime has yet to be seen, but is a very real possibility.

Freedom of speech is one of my main beats, and one of the most important issues of our time. The censorship apparatus that was bolstered in the wake of BREXIT and the 2016 election can be used by an administration on either side of the political aisle to oppress its dissidents.
One thing that everyone can agree on, regardless of which side of the cultural/political aisle you might fall on, is that it sucks to have your voice silenced. Despite this universality, there are two types of people; those who abhor censorship and those who only abhor censorship when it’s targeting ideas with which they agree.

This is true for a majority of the left and the right, despite all of the free speech rhetoric during the censor-happy Biden administration, conservatives are now embracing free speech limitations on those with whom they disagree. If you think this isn’t true, then you’ve deluded yourself.

That being said, the only true way to win the war against censorship is to end censorship—particularly state-sponsored censorship—wherever it occurs.

The same faction of European elite who are leading the charge for online censorship (via the Digital Services Act) happen to also be the most vocal, bloodthirsty proponents of the war in Ukraine. But are they toothless without the backing of the United States?
