As I lay on the soft grass in the middle of the jungle, I couldn’t help but lose myself in the vastness of the night sky. The stars twinkled above, almost as if they were winking at me, inviting me to join them in their magical world. And for a moment, I felt like I was in a dream, a dream so beautiful and heavenly that I never wanted to wake up from.
The Milky Way stretched across the sky, painting a picture of pure wonder and awe. I couldn’t help but think about how small I was in comparison to the grand universe surrounding me. Yet, in that moment, I felt infinite, as if I could conquer anything and everything.
Solo traveling has its perks, and one of them is being able to witness the beauty of nature without any distractions. As a traveler, I’ve seen many breathtaking sights, but gazing at the night sky in the middle of the jungle is an experience like no other.
So next time you’re feeling lost or overwhelmed, look up at the stars and let them guide you. Let them remind you that there’s so much more to this world than what meets the eye. And who knows, you might just find yourself feeling heavenly.

^ A journal entry from this week ^
Through this intense energy being thrown at us from all different areas of the world, let’s always remember to embrace our true wildness!
The more we return to the earth, the more we return to ourselves

Tree Rings: Nature’s Time Machine!
Did you know that tree rings on California’s iconic trees are like pages in a history book? These natural markers tell stories of age, climate, and even climate change. Here’s what they reveal:
Age: Tree rings can show how old a tree is. For example, a redwood in Muir Woods lived for 1,021 years, with its concentric rings marking each year of life.
Climate: Light-colored rings = wood that grew in spring and early summer. Dark-colored rings = wood that grew in late summer and fall. Wide rings = good growing conditions (think warm, wet years). Narrow rings = cold or dry conditions.
Science Snapshot: The study of tree rings is called dendrochronology, and it even gives us clues about ancient climates! For instance, fossilized tree rings at Florissant show us what the weather was like 34 million years ago.
From telling the age of a towering redwood to uncovering the secrets of past climates, tree rings are one of nature’s most fascinating storytellers. Next time you see a cross-section of a tree, look closer—you’re peering into history.
