A Cold War-era spacecraft is about to return to Earth, the final leg of its failed mission to explore one of our closest cosmic neighbors.

She was in Higgins Branch, between FM 2935 and Old Independence Road.
The family has been notified, and responding agencies have concluded their operations. Our hearts are with the Woods family as they navigate this devastating loss. We extend our deepest gratitude to the many local, regional, and state agencies who worked tirelessly in the search and rescue effort, including:

NEXT SEVERE WEATHER THREAT: The next severe weather threat we are watching will be a northwesterly flow event in Dixie Alley on Thursday. This trough shape usually does not support significant severe weather, unless it’s gorilla hail. The tornado threat would be limited due to a lack of low-level shear with this trough geometry.
