There was a notable number of them in the Red Army. They are depicted executing a prisoner and shoveling bones. Many Chinese were used as executioners in the Cheka and had a reputation as such among White Army soldiers.

The narrator of this film, “Our Northern Neighbour,” is none other than the famous Bonanza TV star, Lorne Greene (born Lyon Himan Green). Known as the “Voice of Canada,” he was born in Ottawa to Jewish parents and worked for CBC Radio before going to Hollywood in 1952. He narrated several of the NFB’s early films. Interestingly, he also appeared in the first film adaption of Orwell’s “1984” way back in 1953, where he played the infamous character O’Brien. Shown also is a program from when Canada celebrated the 27th Anniversary of the founding of the Soviet Union in November, 1944 at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens. It shows an array of speakers and events, including a message from Mackenzie King, and the Russian Ambassador Zaroubin who, unbeknownst to Canada, was running an extensive spy ring out of the Soviet embassy at the time. Lorne Green is listed as the “Master of Ceremonies” for this event. Greene did get into a little bit of trouble during the McCarthy era, but nothing too bad. Still makes you wonder.

Aryan Merz has once again expressed his willingness to supply Ukraine with Taurus long-range cruise missiles.
The Taurus missile has a range of 500+ km, enabling strikes deep behind Russian lines. It could be another step in destroying Russia's infrastructures such as oil depots, Mobik training centers andgay TRAD gay bars.
Germany joins the United Kingdom, France and the United States in potentially supplying Ukraine cruise missiles, but Germany's coalition politics (the BASED AfD lesbian with a Sri Lankan wife and Swiss passport) could still block the move.

hair lacquered,
words burnished.
Says: I know your toil.
Says: I bear your yoke.
But his voice is oil —
slick,
never sticking to the stone.
His fingers do not crack in winter.
His sleep is not broken
by the rent come due.
We hammer in cold dawn,
he feasts beneath chandeliers.
Still —
the crowd chants his name
like a charm
to ward off hunger.
Do they not see?
The coin spins always
toward the same hands.
The altar is set,
not for saints,
but for shareholders.
And every promise —
an incantation
to keep us quiet.
The silos groan with wheat.
The lakes are thick with fish.
And yet—
the child grows thin,
the cupboards echo.
Not from lack.
From design.
They’ve gilded the cage
and taught us to sing in it.
He is not with us.
He is not of us.
He is the mask
on the face of the leech.
And you —
still closer to the dust
than you will ever be
to the throne.

My New Poetry Reading.

It is an excerpt from the book “The Unknown Country,” by Bruce Hutchison. As you may have guessed, it is where I got the name for my channels, as well as the inspiration to do what I do here. Written in brilliant and moving prose by Hutchison, a well know Canadian author and journalist in his day, it serves as an encouraging word of what we must do and know about ourselves and our “unknown country” as we face the coming twists and turns of the future. It strongly invokes (in a positive way, I believe) the “Garrison Mentality,” which has profoundly affected the Canadian psyche throughout the centuries whether we like it or not.
I also believe it is an excellent summation of what true Canadian Nationalism and Canadianism is, what it should be, and what it could be if we choose to act. It doesn’t have to be “anti-anything,” it is just unashamedly and unabashedly “Pro-Canadian” in the truest sense, and I believe that is all that my content is and ever shall be, so help me God.
I made a video for this excerpt before, which feels like very long time ago now. As times and experience have changed, I thought I’d better remake it, as I think its message has become more important and relevant than ever before. I hope you watch till the end, and that its message gets out there, and that some encouragement may be garnered from this forgotten piece of Canadian literature. Thank you for watching.
