🇿🇦South Africa's Ambassador to the US, Ebrahim Rasool, returned to South Africa after being declared a persona non grata by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Rubio wrote on X that Rasool is "a race-baiting politician who hates America and hates POTUS" after Rasool said in a webinar that US President Donald Trump is leading a global white supremacist movement.

Rasool said that he will now wear this "non grata" status as a badge of honor.

#PeoplesHistory | 🇮🇳On this day in 1931, Indian revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar were executed by British colonial authorities for having assassinated a British colonial officer. They were just in their early 20s and sacrificed their lives fighting for India's freedom.

Their actions and struggle for a secular and sovereign subcontinent propelled the long struggle against colonialism forward and continues to inspire people today.

At least three Palestinian police officers were killed and several others injured in an Israeli drone strike that targeted them in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah, while they were securing aid trucks entering the besieged strip.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza condemned the assault, and called on “mediators and the international community to pressure the [Israeli] occupation to halt its targeting of the police force, which is a civilian body responsible for maintaining public security and organizing daily affairs.”

Maria Fernanda Restrepo Arismendi, a filmmaker, social activist, and researcher spoke to Peoples Dispatch about the forced disappearance of her brothers, Santiago and Andrés, at the hands of the Ecuadorian National Police in 1988. To this day, despite a tireless, decades-long struggle led by her family, especially her father Pedro Restrepo, the truth of their disappearances has yet to come to light.
