Katarina Rukavishnikova, the owner of Birds by Joe 2, was reportedly assisting Raymond Carey, a 53-year-old repeat customer when she looked up to see him leveling the crossbow at her before firing a bolt directly into her face. She was able to disarm him before fleeing for help.

I saw that with my own two eyes where we had 300 angry migrants rip through the razor wire and run up to the border wall, assault our National Guard soldiers, and try to force their way into the United States. Now, that area is seeing around 90 migrants crossing each day and these are the ones that are trying to evade Border Patrol. They aren't these ones having the sense of entitlement trying to rush the border wall and getting aggressive.
These are the ones when caught, like this one migrant with saw in the span of just four hours -- we only saw one apprehension during that time in that sector while we were riding along with Border Patrol. And this was a 23-year-old migrant from Mexico named Jovani and he was crying to me because he got caught. The LASD Homeless Outreach Services Team & Sheriff's Youth Foundation in partnership with the H4H Foundation, joined the Dream Center Los Angeles to provide essentials such as food, water and clothing to those affected by the recent wildfires.
Deputies were given a tour of the Dream Center and met with participants of one of the many outreach programs being offered to the LA community.

Illinois: Cops would not be able to search cars based on the smells of burnt or raw cannabis under a proposed state law.
The bill comes after the state Supreme Court ruled last year that searches can be based on the smell of raw weed, but not burnt.

The president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG) is accusing Mayor Bruce Harrell of “weaponizing public safety” by stripping collective bargaining rights from labor unions.
House Bill 1816 proposes creating civilian-staffed crisis response teams (CRTs) in areas with populations over 200,000. These teams would handle 911 calls related to mental health crises and nonviolent emergencies, allowing police to focus on other threats. The sponsor, State Rep. Shaun Scott (D-Seattle), is a police abolitionist.

NEW: The Maui Police Department in Hawaii is investigating what led to a gas grill explosion at a Kaanapali Beach condo Thursday evening which left seven people injured.
The Maui Police Department, according to their statement, received reports of the explosion which took place at 2481 Kaanapali Parkway at approximately 6:15 p.m. and found seven people, from the ages 18 to 74, injured.
Three of those seven people are currently in critical condition, and one had to be transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room for further treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest the explosion may have involved liquefied petroleum gas, commonly used for BBQs and, according to KITV, witness statements indicated there could have been a grill malfunction before the incident.

The initial investigation revealed a deceased body in the area where there was a fire. The identification and cause of death are pending investigation by the Adams County Coroner's Office.
