I’ve been feeling stuck with my Russian, so I’m building a tool to help me break past my current level.
It’s nothing revolutionary, plenty of tools free and paid exist, but I think this will help me learn in my own way while also boosting my programming / system design skills and serving as a portfolio piece.

It’s basically a flash card player. There’s a phrase in English and Russian, and you can listen to the phrase with a brief explanation.
The technical side of it may or may not be interesting to you guys, but it’s in my GitHub if you’re interested.
By typing these phrases out in the spreadsheet used to generate the files, I hope to improve my muscle memory on the Russian keyboard layout, and since I can access this on my phone I can look and listen anywhere I have internet on the go.
Maybe if you’re learning Russian, it can help you too!

Затем была ложь за ложью. Затем я начал самостоятельно изучать историю глубже и прочитал статью Путина ”ОБ ИСТОРИЧЕСКОМ ЕДИНСТВЕ РУССКИХ И УКРАИНЦЕВ“.
Моя русская жена рассказала мне, что ее бабушка была отвергнута своей украинской семьей за то, что вышла замуж за русского мужчину. Это ужасно.
Я смотрел лекции Джона Миршаймера о том, как Запад провоцирует войну в Украине. Я исследовал, что на самом деле произошло на Майдане. На сегодняшний день четверо военных в статусе обвиняемых, трое из которых находятся под стражей, а один отпущен до суда под поручительство командования 5-й бригады им. А.В. Захарченко. Скоро должен начаться суд.
Несмотря на насмешки злорадствующих укропов и тех представителей западного мира, которые, мягко говоря, не любят Россию и хлопают в ладоши, что "русские сами убили кремлёвского пропагандиста", к нам продолжают приезжать хорошие люди со всего мира, которые понимают, что преступники, к сожалению, есть в любой стране.

Back then I still had a good job and didn’t want to be fired, but the target was already on my back from not being vaccinated. Supporting and then visiting Russia was the last straw for my employer. After being fired, I got another job offer just to prove I could, and then set out for Russia knowing I’d eventually join the armed forces.
I was always active online trying to contribute in one way or another, but people on either side seem to have their mind made up and I know what I believe in.

Посмотрел фильм "Наш Техас". Как и у всех его товарищей, впечатления и восприятие кадров не просто эмоциональные, а болезненные. То, что произошло с Расселом не имеет оправдания и не может быть прикрыто прошлыми заслугами тех кто его жестоко убил и кого он считал своими. В ближайшие дни начинается суд над его убийцами, которые, в очередной раз повторюсь, должны понести заслуженное наказание без права отправится искупать вину кровью.

More nonsense from some talking head Kurt Volker in the US.
Saying that Putin wants to “eliminate any Ukrainian sense of identity” is misleading at best and outright lying at worst.
Volker says that “Putin has written about this”, which leads me to believe he’s read the article “ON THE HISTORICAL UNITY OF RUSSIANS AND UKRAINIANS”
I would suggest everyone to read the article, which can be found here.
I’ve spoken about this recently, but Putin and Russia absolutely do not want to “eliminate the Ukrainian identity”.
What they want, is to eliminate and remove anyone who propagates a blatant “anti-Russian” ideology, which was going on for some time before the conflict in Ukraine escalated to where it is today.
I won’t go over too much of what is explained in the article I linked in this post, because you can read it your self.
But some key excerpts I think are relevant to Volkers statement here:

There are rumors that large amounts of agricultural land have in fact been sold, but of course they are “fact checked” as false, and it’s hard to get to the bottom of who’s invested in what. But when BlackRock is involved you know nothing is for free, and they will be expecting a return.
Even if foreign people, companies, funds, and so on cannot outright own the Ukrainian land, it’s obvious money will shuffle around various “funds”, and BlackRock will be expecting a return on anything they do “for Ukraine”.
Why should traditionally Russian lands industry, recovery, and so forth be sold out to western investors?

The wests hypocrisy and cherry picking is a major reason I left. They can say what they want in the news, the realities on the battlefield will dictate the terms of any future peace.

4 shots fired and 4 target hits! The RPG is very fun to shoot (at least in training) and I’m glad to be trained on this platform. It is a simple and classic weapon.
I’m also still solid at 100-200m on the AK-12 iron sights, however I hope to eventually work with drones, and especially FPV 😎
