🎧 'No more war' says Pope Leo XIV in first Sunday message

💬Starting in Rome, Pope Leo XIV delivered his inaugural Sunday address in St. Peter's Square, making a powerful plea for global peace, urging for an end to conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

"As Pope Francis has repeatedly stated, I too appeal to the great ones of the world, repeating the ever-relevant plea: No more war!''
On May 11, Pope Leo XIV, the first American-born pope, stood on the central balcony of St. Peter's Basilica to deliver his first Sunday blessing in front of a crowd of approximately 100,000.
He chose this position over the usual Apostolic Palace window, departing from tradition to symbolize a new approach.
In his address, Pope Leo XIV echoed the words of his predecessor, Pope Francis, by urging "No more war."
He expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, describing the global situation as a "Third World War being fought piecemeal."
While calling for lasting peace in Ukraine and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the pontiff also acknowledged the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Alisher Sadullaev is a Chairman of the Youth Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He is passionate about forming a physically healthy, spiritually mature, intellectually developed and independently thinking younger generation. Alisher sheds light on our perception of the world, where we tend to lean negative and reframing how we communicate, using positive thinking, could be the key to unlocking a more positive outlook.

Alisher Sadullaev is a Chairman of the Youth Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the aim of which is to form a physically healthy, spiritually mature, intellectually developed and independent thinking younger generation, protect their rights and legal interests and provide them with support and better conditions. He worked as a Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2017 to 2018. From 2018 to 2019, Alisher Sadullaev served as the first Deputy Chairman of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan. Simultaneously, he is a member of the Senate and the First Deputy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Youth, Science, Education, Health, Culture and Sport. Alisher Sadullaev is a graduate of Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent (MDIST). This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

😎 Chashma-Ayub, Bukhara

In Central Asia, there exist a great many places which were presumably visited by saints many centuries ago.

One of them is the Chashma-Ayub in Bukhara well, translated as Saint Job’s Source. A legend has it that the Bible prophet Job, having visited this land, decided to help the people who suffered from water shortage in the desert. He struck the ground with his stick, making a source of crystal clear water sprang at that place.

The people believe that the water from the source possesses healing power. A mausoleum is erected over the source. It is shaped in a form of an oblong prism. The building is crowned with domes, different in form. Over the main building with the source there is a special double dome with a conical “cap”.
