Hitler: A man who had a country that developed the first assault rifle, the most advanced tanks in the world, a rocket program that put every other superpower to shame, and advanced civil-engineering projects such as the Autobahn.
Stalin: A man who had a country who completed not only a transition from a nearly entirely agricultural economy to a modern industrialized economy in a single generation but also beat the West to space and completed some of the most technically massive and intricate infrastructure projects in human history.
Mao: A man who took illiterate rice farmers and peasants into a victorious war over the Imperial Japanese and the nationalist forces but also placed the foundation for what is now the single largest economy, and arguably one of the most advanced, societies, on planet Earth.
I really don't think that these fellas were "anti-intellectual" in any way, unless the Western definition of "intellectual" is literally just "Cutting dicks off of kids and importing infinity foreigners"
