🥷 ZKN Development Update – 2025-04-11
With momentum building from the Incentivized Beta Campaign, the ZKN team has begun inviting waves of testers to the next phase of the program. The ZKN team continues advancing usability, performance, and transparency across the ZKNetwork Client and broader privacy infrastructure. Here's a look at the latest updates:
💻 ZKNetwork Client Updates
Following the latest testnet upgrades expanding metadata-private RPC access to more blockchain networks, recent development has focused on further improving the user experience and preparing for scalable, secure deployment of client features.
In-App User Logs: Complementing existing logs available through the file system geared towards developers, users now have access to logs within the client interface, offering:
- Visible feedback for WalletShield activity and mixnet interactions
- Easier access to diagnostics for tech support and issue reporting
🔐 In-App Secure Updates (Part 1 of 2)
The first phase of a resilient in-app update system for the ZKNetwork Client is complete, preparing for this capability to roll out in a subsequent update. This feature enables:
- Update Validation: Every client release is signed and verified before installation.
- Automated Notifications: Users will receive in-app alerts when a new update is available.
- Streamlined Rollouts: Future releases can be delivered directly via the app.
As a Trusted Execution Environment, the ZKNetwork Client decouples its own updates from network assets and apps like WalletShield. This separation enables seamless, secure support for evolving and overlapping network deployments and app developments without requiring client updates.
🌐 Dynamic Service Discovery
In step with ongoing R&D on the zkAppChain-powered Service Registry, the team is integrating a feature to display metadata-private RPC endpoints for supported blockchains directly within the ZKNetwork Client, sourced from network deployment data. This feature will:
- Dynamically display supported blockchains for each network.
- Replace static docs with real-time, self-updating in-app data.
- Provide easy access to an ever-growing list of supported chains.
With each wave of testers and every feature release, the ZKNetwork Client continues to evolve as a secure interface connecting people and apps to the advanced privacy of the Zero Knowledge Network.
