Ego is tricky, it will spin a web of good thoughts and emotions to trick you into a pattern. This is happening in the spiritual community, the same patterns our world religions have gone. Reach for the light and forget the dark! This creates separation and denies the totality of the Universe. That might bring up some defence mechanisms and that's definitely worth exploring. Defensive behaviour is the first indicator that ego is prevalent. Dig deep when this feeling shows up. Our souls are perfect and don't need defending, it doesn't feel pain, it knows everything is in alignment. It's the mind and thought patterns that create pain. Ego doesn't want to be caught in its sneaky way of keeping you from finding your true self.
Somehow we have a mass belief that enlightenment is light, peaceful and loving. That’s the illusion.. Universe encompasses everything, including darkness, yet darkness is something everyone wants to avoid because it doesn’t feel good.
