I was confused by a man who asked me to tell him about the "diversity" of colonial Louisiana: specifically about the Islamic and Hindu elements. I assured him there were scarcely even Protestants in early Louisiana, but he contradicted me, speaking of "America's Islamic heritage." I repeated that, although I was aware of the homegrown Nation of Islam in LA, there has been no Islamic presence in the state until recently.

The couple asked what was going on in the neighborhood, so I said Dave Matthews was singing at a small venue. The man replied that was impossible, and asked why I thought so. I said I had driven two women from the venue who said so, and had claimed to talk to him. I added that I hadn't seen him, but had just heard about him. Meanwhile, his wife searched on her phone and discovered Matthews had surprised everyone by joining the set of another band. She then complained for the rest of the ride that her husband didn't take her.
