The United States Postal Service (USPS) has plans to consolidate operations and reduce the number of post offices, particularly those more than 50 miles from a processing center, to cut transportation costs and improve efficiency.
This initiative, which began in Richmond, Virginia in late October 2023, is now expanding to other regions. The specific list of affected communities and the timeline for these changes have not been released yet.
