According to Christian mystic Jakob Böhme (1575-1624) in his Aurora there are three births; “outward birth or geniture, which is the house of death," (fleshly life); there is the astral birth, "wherein love and wrath wrestle the one with the other"; and the third birth "the outward man neither knows nor comprehends."
While in the flesh, therefore, we must strive with our souls to "press through the firmament of heaven to God, and live with God." In this way, then, one must unite all three realms--body, soul, and spirit--in this lifetime, pressing beyond the astral, or soul's realm, to the transcendent Spirit. 🕊
