Bowes, who arrived in the country to cover the May 4 first round of the redo of Romania’s scandal-ridden presidential elections, was detained in Bucharest, with six police officers boarding the plane he arrived in to escort him out, saying higher-ups wanted to “talk” to the correspondent.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the detention illegal, stressing that Bowes entered Romania legally, did not violate any laws, but was still prevented from engaging in his work.

Nationalization of Mines in Burkina Faso Will Continue: Prime Minister
Through policy, Ouagadougou seeks to maximize the benefits of mining, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo explained in an interview with RTB.
He noted that the state had established the Mining Participation Company, which has already acquired two industrial mines.

The army's attorney general has formally requested the Senate to revoke Joseph Kabila's immunity as a senator for life, Justice Minister Constant Mutamba said, adding that the request cites evidence of "war crimes, crimes against humanity, and massacres."
