Hummingbirds Can See Colors Human Eyes Can't, Princeton University Study Says

Scientists have found that birds have a type of light-sensitive cones in their eyes that allows them to see non-spectral colors. Humans see only spectral colors, ranging from red and yellow to blue and violet, and can also distinguish shades

"If we compare the color vision of humans and animals, it turns out that we are colorblind. We do not have access to colors in the UV spectrum, plus we do not see such combinations as ultraviolet and green or ultraviolet and red,"
