🇷🇺🇺🇸📞 On April 17, 2025, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a telephone conversation.

Secretary Rubio, who is currently in Paris, informed the Russian side about the recent engagements that he and US President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff had in the French capital. These discussions involved representatives from Ukraine, France, and several other European nations. It was underscored that these contacts were in alignment with the framework of ongoing consultations between Washington and Moscow, including the recent dialogue between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg.

Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue collaborative efforts with American counterparts to comprehensively address the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis.

The Foreign Minister and Secretary of State concurred on the necessity to maintain prompt communication channels, particularly in light of forthcoming meetings scheduled by American and European officials with Ukrainian representatives next week.

#KievRegimeCrimes

📓 A new report, which was prepared by The International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis chaired by Maxim Grigoriev, titled 'War Crimes of the Kiev Regime. Materials of the International Public Tribunal on the Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazi (2024–2025)' has recently been published.

This edition presents direct testimonies of victims of Ukrainian war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Their words are direct accusations of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi regime, which, with the support of Western countries, systematically and purposefully organized mass shootings of Russian and Russian-speaking citizens in the territory temporarily under its control.

In the territory temporarily controlled by the Kiev regime, the Russian-speaking population has been subjected to constant terror since 2014.

❗️ Witness testimonies in this publication denounce the Ukrainian authorities for murder, torture, beatings, rape and disappearances of citizens.

The Kiev Neo-Nazi regime has systematically and flagrantly violated the Geneva Conventions and massively committed war crimes, which, according to international law, have #NoStatuteOfLimitations.

💬 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov:

The facts presented herein about the criminal acts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are truly appalling. Deliberate killing of civilians, torture, beatings, looting, bombing, shelling and destruction of purely civilian objects — this is by no means a complete list of crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazi.

This publication is especially valuable due to the fact that it is based on the testimonies of eyewitnesses and people who suffered directly at the hands of armed groups controlled by the Kiev regime.

The atrocities committed by the Ukro-Nazi are hard to read about. But it is necessary to know about them. It is necessary because they are the simplest, most direct and irrefutable proof of the correctness and timeliness of the decision to carry out a special military operation to save people of Russian culture and eliminate threats to the security of our country.

Today, Russian soldiers and officers protect the peaceful population of Russian regions, life, honour and dignity of our citizens and compatriots in Donbass and Novorossiya.

Our common task is to do everything necessary to ensure that all those responsible for crimes are punished inevitably. This is the sacred mission of the book you are about to read.

🎙 From FM Sergey Lavrov’s answers to the media questions during his remarks at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (April 12, 2025)

Read in full

💬 We are not about territories. We are about the people who live on these lands, whose ancestors lived there for centuries, who founded cities like Odessa, Catherine the Great, who built factories, who built houses, ports, and these people, by twist of history, during the Soviet days, became not part of Russia, but part of Ukraine, because this was considered a consolidating factor to neutralize the ultra-radicals living in the Western part of Ukraine when it joined the Soviet Union after the war.

The people who live there, they are being deprived of all human rights. I quoted the UN Charter, which in Article 1 says everybody must respect the human rights of every individual, irrespective of race, gender, language, or religion.

Human rights and language rights
of anybody who is ethnic Russian and lives on the territory which used to be Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, they were deprived of their basic rights. The Russian language has been prohibited at all stages of education, in the areas of culture, media.

Russian books have been thrown out of the libraries. The Nazis in Germany were burning them, but Ukrainians are much more smart. They utilize them and get money for this, you know, but everybody is happy. And recently, the canonic Ukrainian Orthodox Church was prohibited by law. They literally exterminate anything Russian.

When in September 2021, long before the operation which we had to launch, Zelensky was asked in an interview what he thought, and at that time the Minsk Agreement was still valid, though later Germans, the French, and the Ukrainian president before Zelensky admitted that they never intended to implement them, they needed more time to arm Ukraine, speaking of the ceasefire for 30 days, logic is the same.

In November 2021, Zelensky was asked what he thought about the people on the other side of the line of contact in Donbass. And he said, trying to sound clever, "You know, there are people and there are species”. Another time he gave his advice “to those who live in Ukraine but feel associated with the Russian culture, for the sake of your kids, for the sake of your grandchildren, get out to Russia”.

Just a couple of weeks ago, in another interview, when he was asked what is driving him, he said, "Hatred to Russia." The interviewer wanted to clarify, “To President Putin?”, he said, "No, to all Russians."

This is said by the person who during his artistic days was defending the right of Ukrainians to speak Russian, and he said, "Get lost, don't even think about touching the Russian language, it's our history." So, this is where we are.

Hatred is not the best guide. By the way, maybe somebody knows, Israel never prohibited Arab language, no? I don't think so.

❗️ I think Ukraine is the only country on Earth which is multinational, and the language of one huge ethnic group is prohibited.

If you read and listen to what the West is saying, EU, NATO, especially EU. Human rights is on top of everything. When they discuss Venezuela, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, they never forget about human rights. Check what they're saying on the situation in Ukraine. They say Zelensky and his team defend European values. If your value is exterminating the language of those who founded the country, if your value is to glorify Nazis and their collaborators who were convicted by the Nuremberg Tribunal, to whom you put monuments, whose birthdays you celebrate as national holiday, while ruining, toppling the monuments to those who saved Europe from Nazism, toppling the monument in Odessa, which I mentioned already, to Catherine the Great, who founded that city.

Soon after this monument to Catherine the Great, the Empress, was toppled, UNESCO granted the Odessa central region where the monument was located the status of World Heritage. It's such a shame to the lady who happens to be French and happens, I think, by default to become director-general of this respected organization.

🇺🇳 On April 2, the Arria-formula meeting of UN Security Council members was convened at Russia’s initiative at the UN headquarters in New York, marking the third anniversary of the orchestrated events in Bucha.

The gathering included delegations from a wide array of states, experts, and direct witnesses to crimes perpetrated by the Kiev regime.

☝️ During the meeting, Russian representatives presented convincing and fact-based rebuttals – supported by specific examples, photographic evidence, and video documentation – to the unfounded allegations of crimes in Bucha levelled against Russia by Western nations.

Emphasis was placed on the contrived nature and glaring inconsistencies within Ukrainian and Western narratives, which rely on information manipulation, distortion of public consciousness, and the suppression of facts incompatible with their promoted storyline.

❗️ Particular scrutiny was directed at the baseless insinuations propagated by international bodies, including the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the International Criminal Court, which have effectively abetted the Kiev regime. Concern was expressed over UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ steadfast refusal to respond to requests from Russian law enforcement agencies for cooperation in investigating the circumstances of the Bucha provocation.

French journalist Adrien Bocquet, serving as rapporteur, delivered a fact-driven critique of international institutions and Western media for their biased coverage of the Ukrainian conflict. He underscored multiple violations of international law by the Kiev regime in Bucha, which he personally documented.

The West even declined to challenge the evidence of the staged nature of the events in Bucha presented by the Russian side. Instead, it resorted to recycling discredited anti-Russian tropes in an attempt to assign culpability to Russia for the scenario scripted by Western actors.

The discussion revealed that Western diplomats and UN officials continue to aggressively promote Ukraine’s version of events in Bucha while obstructing efforts to investigate the tragedy or hold perpetrators of these crimes to account.

🇷🇺 Russia's Olympic Committee:

🏒 8️⃣9️⃣5️⃣ Alexander Ovechkin has just set the NHL’s all-time goal-scoring record!

In a recent regular season game, the Russian forward for the Washington Capitals scored the 895th goal of his career, officially surpassing Wayne Gretzky to become the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer.

Fittingly, Ovechkin reached this milestone against the New York Islanders – the same team Gretzky was facing on March 29, 1999, when he set what many believed would be an unbreakable record.

That record stood for 26 years… until today.

🔥 This is the fourth major milestone Ovechkin has hit in games against the Islanders. In January 2020, after scoring on Semyon Varlamov, he entered the NHL’s top 10, surpassing Mario Lemieux. In March 2021, he climbed to 6th by passing Phil Esposito. Then in March 2022, he moved into the top 3 by overtaking Jaromir Jagr.

Now, Ovechkin stands at the very top of the all-time goal list. He’s also the only active player in the top 10. The next closest active player, Sidney Crosby, sits in 18th place with 622 goals – far behind. Ovi’s record is likely to stand for a long time.

✊ And the journey isn’t over yet. With a full season left on his contract with the Capitals, there’s every reason to believe he’ll raise the bar even higher.

Huge congratulations to Alexander! Wishing him health, strength, and continued success. The Gr8 just keeps getting gr8ter.

👉 Top 10 NHL Goal Scorers of All Time:

1. Alexander Ovechkin — 895
2. Wayne Gretzky — 894
3. Gordie Howe — 801
4. Jaromir Jagr — 766
5. Brett Hull — 741
6. Marcel Dionne — 731
7. Phil Esposito — 717
8. Mike Gartner — 708
9. Mark Messier — 694

“Not an Inch Eastward”
they said... what the West promised and what the West did in a nutshell.

To put things in perspective, here's NATO’s expansion over the years. This “defensive” alliance has undergone ten waves of enlargement (or if speaking plainly ten waves of constant expansion), seven of which occurred after the dissolution of the USSR.

Since the end of the Cold War, NATO has incorporated the following countries, building up their aggressive military potential, sowing anti-Russian sentiment and foisting its confrontational mindset on new and old members alike:

📍 1999: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland;
📍 2004: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia;
📍 2009: Albania, Croatia;
📍 2017: Montenegro;
📍 2020: North Macedonia;
📍 2023: Finland;
📍 2024: Sweden.

As of now, the alliance comprises 32 members. On NATO’s so-called Eastern flank, for decades there has been an active buildup of military capabilities.

As a result, the militarization of Europe is unleashed and out of control, with the security architecture and balance that kept the region relatively safe is being dismantled.

• Restoring our dialogue with President of the United States Donald Trump is a natural step. Importantly, both Sides are willing to move in this direction despite the many challenges and the divergence of our national interests on several, if not most of the international matters. We need to hold meetings and treat each other as well-educated and polite people by listening and hearing each other.

• The sincere desire to transition to normality shown by President Donald Trump is met with resistance after recent political upheavals that have rocked the Washington-based elites. They are preparing some moves behind the scenes, using their lobbies and the media. Their aim is to prevent President Donald Trump from mending relations with Russia and putting them back on track as they should be between two great powers and between all countries, for that matter.

#NATO #Ukraine

• International humanitarian law explicitly prohibits placement of military facilities and weapons in or around civilian sites.

• Since the onset of the [Ukrainian] crisis, there have been countless instances of artillery and air defence systems deployed in [Ukrainian] city quarters next to kindergartens. The internet was full of videos showing Ukrainian women yelling at the military telling them to leave retail outlets and playgrounds, but they keep doing so to this day.

• We have verified information about who was inside the building that was struck in Sumy. It was yet another gathering of Ukrainian military commanders alongside their Western counterparts operating under the guise of mercenaries, or someone else.

NATO military personnel are there and are directly in charge of the operations. Everyone is aware of that. Even The New York Times has reported that U.S. military staff have played a central role in orchestrating attacks on Russia from the outset. Without their involvement, the vast majority of long-range missile strikes would never have happened.

• President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that the decision by the Joe Biden administration to drag Ukraine into NATO was a major mistake. Among other things, it served as a trigger, or one of the triggers, in terms of what is happening today in Ukraine. President Trump has recognised in public several times that he viewed this as one of the root causes.

#UkraineCrisis

Speaking at the Russia's Foreign Ministry on June 14, 2024, President Vladimir Putin laid out a clear framework for a lasting, reliable and just settlement [of the Ukraine crisis] which would primarily focus on fulfilling the interests of the people and ensuring that human rights are respected <...> as per the UN Charter.

• For us the future of the people is what matters most, and saying the territorial integrity of Ukraine cannot be violated means letting Russians, the Russian-speaking people who escaped from the Nazi regime end up at the mercy of these beasts.

• All peacekeeping “arrangements” painted by “macrons” and “starmers” seek to preserve at least a small piece of land as home to the blatantly Nazi and Russophobic regime designed to be used for preparing another war against Russia. This poses a major challenge for the West’s reputation and credibility.

🚀 On April 12, 1961, at 9.07 am Moscow Time, the Vostok spacecraft with Yury Gagarin aboard made its historic lift-off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. This first manned space mission in the history of humankind heralded the beginning of the Space Age.

Yury #Gagarin was only 27 years old then. He had experienced various hardships earlier in life, spending his childhood years in his home town in Nazi-occupied territory during the Great Patriotic War. After the war, he joined the Saratov air club, for many years he trained hard to become a professional pilot. Gagarin eventually joined the first Soviet cosmonaut squad.

On that memorable April morning, he was preparing to take off into the unknown where no human being had ever been before. A photographer took images of the cosmonaut’s face before the flight. Gagarin showed absolutely no fear, flashing his famous smile and concentrating on his responsible assignment.

🧑‍🚀 Yury Gagarin spent 108 minutes in outer space, orbited the Earth and successfully landed near the village of Smelovka in the Saratov Region.

While in orbit, he maintained radio contact with Earth, conducted observations through a porthole, controlled the operation of the spacecraft’s systems and made a few experiments.

📰 The media widely announced Yury Gagarin’s mission 55 minutes after the Vostok rocket lifted off. It became the most quoted news story worldwide. Instantly, a Soviet pilot & cosmonaut became the most famous person on Earth.

Two days later, the residents of the Soviet capital took to the streets, carrying flowers and posters that welcomed Gagarin who had arrived in Moscow. In late April, the first man in space went on a global tour to share his impressions with people all over the world.

🌐 In the next two years following this history-making event, Yury Gagarin visited over 30 countries where he was given a hero’s welcome. His tour was unofficially named the Peace Mission. Despite his immense popularity, Gagarin remained his own usual self and continued to engage in what he liked most – aviation and cosmonautics – for the rest of his life.

🗓 April 4 marks the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of Bratislava from Nazi invaders, expelled from the capital of Slovakia as a result of the Bratislava-Brno offensive operation (March 25 – May 5, 1945), which involved units of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, commanded by Marshal Rodion Malinovsky.

💬 Marshal Matvey Zakharov, Chief of Staff of the 2nd Ukrainian Front:

Before advancing on Bratislava, the front’s command established communications with Slovak partisans, who proved invaluable. They provided crucial intelligence about the German fortification system, plans for defending specific cities, as well as the strength and organisation of the enemy forces.

🏅 On March 25, Soviet forces launched an offensive on the heavily fortified city. In an effort to minimise civilian casualties and destruction, the Soviet high command opted not to use large-calibre artillery systems, primarily deploying assault infantry units instead.

By April 2, Soviet forces had entered the eastern and north-eastern districts of the city. On April 4, Red Army forces reached Bratislavsky Hrad, a fortress in central Bratislava, where the remaining German garrison was holed up. The city fell by the end of the day, with scattered Nazi units retreating towards Vienna.

Soviet authorities immediately began efforts to restore normal life in the city. Archive documents from the Russian Defence Ministry, declassified ahead of the 75th Anniversary of Bratislava’s liberation, indicate that rubble and debris had been cleared from the city’s central streets and squares by April 10, 1945. The sewage system was reactivated, and people began returning to their homes from nearby villages.

As a result of the Bratislava-Brno operation, the forces of the 2nd Ukrainian Front advanced 200 km, destroyed 9 Wehrmacht divisions and created conditions for further offensive operations towards Prague and Vienna.

The military units that distinguished themselves in the battles for the city were awarded the honorary title of "Bratislava".

A total of 6'845 Soviet officers and soldiers lost their lives while fighting in Bratislava, most of whom are buried at the Slavin military memorial complex in the centre of the Slovak capital.

Every year on April 4, this complex hosts commemorative events dedicated to the city’s liberation from Nazi invaders, with participation from Russian representatives. This year, a delegation of students from MGIMO University will take part in the event.

In total, 63'518 Red Army officers and soldiers were killed while liberating Slovakia.

***

⚔️ Simultaneously, the forces of the 3rd Ukrainian Front halted a major German offensive south of Lake Balaton in Hungary, where the German high command had deployed its best remaining tank units, amid fierce and brutal fighting.

The Red Army pursued the retreating enemy units and completely liberated Hungary by April 4.

The Wehrmacht’s further resistance was futile from a military and strategic perspective, serving only as an attempt by Hitler and his inner circle to delay their inevitable downfall by sacrificing the lives of hundreds of thousands of their compatriots.

🕯 Over 140'000 Soviet officers and soldiers were killed or went missing while liberating Hungary. There are 1'231 Russian (Soviet) burial sites in the country, including 1'036 that date back to the World War II period.

🎙 Address of Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to parliaments of foreign countries and peoples of the world on unacceptability of distorting the history of the Second World War and rehabilitating Nazism

💬 May 9, 2025 marks the 80th Anniversary of historic Victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War. The war unleashed by Nazi Germany and its satellites claimed the lives of 27 million Soviet citizens. Millions of people became prisoners of Nazi death camps, lost their homes, and were deported for forced labour to Germany and other countries under its control.

The Great Victory was achieved through the unwavering determination and bravery of the Soviet people and their strong resolve to defeat Nazism which presented a threat to humanity. The Allies of the Soviet Union made an important contribution to defeating the Third Reich.

The International Military Tribunal (Nuremberg Tribunal) tried and sentenced the main war criminals of the European Axis countries. It held the Nazi regime leaders accountable for crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, among others. The facts of forced displacement and extermination of the Soviet civilian population by Nazis and their accomplices, as established in the verdict of the Nuremberg Tribunal, must be regarded as genocide committed against the peoples of the Soviet Union.

The Victory of the Soviet Union and the other Allies over Nazism paved the way for the forming a modern system of international relations were created, and the United Nations (UN) was established.

The principles of international law recognised by the Charter of the Nuremberg Tribunal and expressed in the verdict passed by the Nuremberg Tribunal were confirmed by UN General Assembly Resolution 95(I) of December 11, 1946.

The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation supports the adoption, on an annual basis, by the UN General Assembly of the resolution titled «Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance», as well as Resolution 79/272 of March 4, 2025 titled «Eightieth anniversary of the end of the Second World War», co-sponsored by 54 countries.

The Russian Federation senators express their concern over the expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation to include non-aligned European countries, the militarisation of the European Union, and its support for the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine. Europe was the starting point of both world wars. For this reason, it bears a unique responsibility to humanity in preventing another global conflict.

☝️ Denying the Soviet Union’s decisive role in Victory of the Anti-hitlerite Coalition over the Nazi Germany and its satellites, glorifying Nazi criminals and their accomplices, and demolishing and desecrating monuments to Soviet liberator soldiers are all immoral and blasphemous acts.

The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation calls on the parliaments of foreign countries and the peoples of the world to counter any attempts to falsify history, to rehabilitate or glorify Nazism, fascism, or militarism, to condemn the encouragement of the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine and the incitement of another world war, and to demand that those who dishonour the memory of the Soviet liberators and those who fought against Nazism be brought to justice.

❗️ Only our joint efforts can protect the truth about the Second World War, counter the rise of neo-Nazism, and avert the recurrence of brutal crimes against humanity.

🕯 April 11th marks the International Day of Liberation of Nazi Concentration Camps. It was established by UNESCO in 1952 to commemorate the international uprising of the prisoners of Buchenwald death camp on April 11, 1945 — one of the Third Reich’s largest concentration camps.

▪️ The Nazis created the entire system, designed to... efficiently dispose of and exterminate people of 'undesirable' ethnicities, social views and those who opposed them — communists, Jews, Slavs, Roma, PoWs, members of Resistance movements. This Nazi lethal & inhumane machine comprised massive network of concentration and death camps established in Germany & occupied territories. Millions of prisoners from the Soviet Union and European countries were kept there in horrible, inhuman conditions. There were over 20 million prisoners from 30 countries held captives in those camps, including about 5 million Soviet citizens. In 1946, the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg declared the creation of such camps not only as a war crime but also as a crime against humanity.

The Nazi death camp system was destroyed after the Great Victory — when Nazism and the Third Reich had been crushed.

The Majdanek concentration camp (Poland) was the first extermination facility whose prisoners were saved by the Red Army from annihilation by Nazi executioners in July 1944. Prisoners of Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, Oswiecim (#AuschwitzBirkenau), Stutthof, Sachsenhausen, Ravensbrück, and other concentration camps were liberated later, with WWII coming to its end.

🎙 An excerpt from a briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (April 9, 2025):

💬 “The International Day of Liberation of Nazi concentration camps is a symbol of solidarity and resistance against all forms of violence, discrimination and genocide, urging the world to remember history and prevent a repetition of those tragic events.

In this context, we are outraged by the historical cynicism of the German authorities, who have been trying to downplay the importance of Victory as an act of the liberation of Europe from Nazism and refuse to recognise the crimes committed by Nazis and their accomplices in the Soviet Union as genocide against Soviet peoples.”
***

#ArchivesTalk: Numerous archive materials (from Russia's Ministry of Defence and Federal Security Service), containing evidence that elucidate barbaric crimes committed by Nazis and their henchmen — collaborators and punishers from nationalist groups — against concentration camp prisoners and civilians in the occupied territories, have been declassified.

➡️ A special multimedia section, "The Beast Face of Nazism", contains evidence of mass annihilation of people (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Jews, Poles, Czechs, Serbs, French, and Italians) in Nazi-occupied territories of the Soviet Union and European countries.

➡️ Digital copies of declassified documents from the Archives of the Federal Security Service of Russia about atrocities and murders committed by the Nazis and their accomplices in Treblinka death camp: the SS units applied atrocious methods annihilating up to five million Jews, Poles, and Roma.

➡️ Materials from Russia's Ministry of Defence Central Archives about crimes committed by Nazis and their accomplices in the Jewish ghetto in Malorita, Brest Region, USSR, and Finnish concentration camp in Karelian-Finnish SSR.

➡️ Archives of the Federal Security Service of Russia on Nazi war crimes in the Kursk Region during the Great Patriotic War shed light on similarity between the atrocities by Nazis and the crimes committed by Ukrainian armed formations.

➡️ Documents published by Russia's Ministry of Defence within the project "Archives Remember Everything...", which provide evidence of crimes and atrocities committed by Ukrainian nationalists and banderites who participated in mass extermination of Poles and Jews.

Truth regarding NATO 👉 #Think4Yourself

NATO is the main military force of the 'collective West', clinging to its eroding dominance against the backdrop of the emerging multipolar world order.

This so-called “defensive alliance” (which it is absolutely not) is the world's largest military expender, one that drives the arms race and ensures its capability to force on others the 'rule-based order' — another euphemism, which is code for a loose system where the West and the West alone will establish or change any rules at any time at one's whim, if it's to the West.

It is no surprise that NATO stands as the unequivocal global leader in military expenditure

Annually, the member-states of this “peaceful” (NOT) alliance allocate approximately $1.3 trillion to military needs, accounting for over half of all defence spending worldwide.

❗️ However, the colossal expenditure on “defence” have not yielded additional stability or security for Europe. On the contrary, NATO’s geopolitical expansion eastward resulted in turmoil, military conflicts and the erosion of the European security architecture.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statement and answer to a media question following a meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia and the Alliance of Sahel States (Moscow, April 3, 2025)

💬 We have held the first meeting in the new Russia-Alliance of Sahel States format with our friends from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger. <...>

We regard the establishment of the Alliance as proof of the three Sahel states’ commitment to building a new regional security architecture and conducting an independent foreign policy with reliance on their national interests and potential.

The Alliance of Sahel States is a bright evidence of Africa’s second revival and the Africans’ striving to play an active and independent role in global affairs and to shake off the remains of their colonial dependence.

☝️ We will continue to provide all-round support to the strengthening of the continent’s positions and will promote a more just multipolar world order where the African continent and its integration structures hold a befitting place.

It is gratifying to feel the general mood for strengthening our partnership based on mutual trust, respect and mutual advantage. I emphasised Russia’s readiness to provide all-round assistance to the Alliance in the three priority areas of its operation:

• defence and security;
• the economy;
• diplomacy in the sense of participation in international processes.

<...>

🤝 We agree that the Russia-Alliance of Sahel States dialogue will give an extra boost to advancing bilateral relations and creating quadripartite cooperation mechanisms. All of the above will help promote comprehensive cooperation and interaction within the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum at the level of foreign ministers. Preparations for holding its second meeting are underway. <...>

From the Q&A session:

• Russia confirmed today that it is prepared to, in addition to cooperation on strengthening the defence capabilities of the three countries through bilateral channels, assist in formation of the Joint Forces of the Alliance of Sahel States by providing advisory services.

⚡Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation:

Yesterday, the Russian Armed Forces launched two Iskander-M operational-tactical missiles in conditions of heavy electronic warfare countermeasures and foreign-made air defence systems in action to hit the site in Sumy where commanding officers of the Seversk task force had a meeting. More than 60 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been eliminated.

▪️ The Kiev regime continues to use the Ukrainian population as a human shield by deploying military facilities and carrying out activities involving servicemen in the centre of the densely populated city.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 April 10 marked a round of Russian-American expert consultations in Istanbul, aimed at normalising the operations of the diplomatic missions of both nations and addressing accumulated bilateral “irritants.”

The delegations, led by Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter, exchanged diplomatic notes to formalise agreed commitments. These commitments are designed to facilitate unimpeded banking and financial services for Russian and American diplomatic missions, in addition to ensuring the fulfilment of the Russian Federation’s contributions to the budgets of the UN and other international organisations.

In the context of the issue raised by the Russian side regarding the return of six diplomatic real estate properties confiscated by the United States authorities and lawfully owned by the Russian Federation, the parties agreed to develop a roadmap. Ambassador Alexander Darchiev emphasised the importance of urgent practical measures in this regard, including immediate access for Russian representatives to inspect these premises and assess incurred damages.

Discussions also continued on easing visa processing and travel regulations for diplomatic staff within the host countries. The Russian Ambassador pressed for accelerated progress in resolving pivotal issues to bolster mutual trust and expand bilateral business and social ties, such as resuming direct air flights.

Following the consultations, the parties resolved to promptly refine the proposals tabled. The objective remains to achieve mutually acceptable solutions ahead of the next round, the timing of which is currently under coordination.

❗️The priority issues of trade and economic cooperation were discussed during a meeting of the joint working group on interaction between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

🇦🇲🇧🇾🇰🇿🇰🇬🇷🇺🤝🇧🇩

The meeting was held at the EEC headquarters and co-chaired by E.Alisherov, EEC Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics, and A.Akhter, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh.

The two sides discussed in detail the expansion of food grain supplies to Bangladesh, exchanged information on organizing labor migration and proposals on trade facilitation.

The importance of developing transport and logistics supply chains of agricultural produce and food, including new logistics routes, was noted.

The Bangladeshi party confirmed its interest in the establishment of a free trade area between the EAEU and Bangladesh. In their turn, the EEC representatives spoke about potential advantages for Bangladeshi exporters within the EAEU Unified System of Tariff Preferences.

👉Since the conclusion of a Memorandum of Cooperation in 2019, the trade turnover between the EAEU Member States and Bangladesh has been on an upward trend, and as of year-end 2024, the growth of trade turnover exceeded 5%, against the background of the EAEU GDP growth rate of 4.2% and Bangladesh GDP growth rate of 5.7%, which are higher than the global average.

◾️ On April 4, 1949, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was founded — the Washington Treaty was signed by 12 nations from Europe and North America.

Since its inception, this so-called “defensive alliance” has continually expanded. Over time, NATO has absorbed 20 new member-states through ten rounds of enlargement (a euphemism for expansion), with seven of these occurring following the dissolution of the Soviet Union: in 1999, 2004, 2009, 2017, 2020, 2023, and 2024.

The alliance’s military interventions worldwide have always been a major source of instability and chaos in global affairs, undermining security worldwide, directly leading to mass civilian casualties and devastating consequences — as witnessed by the aggression against Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, the crisis and situation around Ukraine, and elsewhere.

❗️Back in 2007, during the Munich Security Conference, Russia's President Vladimir Putin explicitly highlighted NATO’s destabilizing role in following the Cold War:

I think it is obvious that NATO expansion does not have any relation with the modernisation of the Alliance itself or with ensuring security in Europe. On the contrary, it represents a serious provocation that reduces the level of mutual trust. And we have the right to ask: against whom is this expansion intended?

Both the Soviet Union and Russia, at various times, sought rapprochement with NATO, even expressing frank interest in joining the alliance to create a an indivisible security system in Europe.

The fact of the matter is that the Soviet-lead Warsaw Pact, often used as a scarecrow by Western propaganda, was established only in 1955 — 6 years after NATO’s creation. Unlike NATO it never had any intentions of aggressive nature, while e.g. UK with its infamous Operation Unthinkable called for a massive assault on 1 July 1945 (not even 2 months after the Victory over Nazis) by British, American and... German (i.e. Nazi) forces against the Red Army.

Not only Russia and USSR never devised aggressive plans against NATO members, but NATO itself have acted in a threatening, aggressive and expansionist manner from the get-go.

Prior to this, Moscow aimed to normalize relations and even considered joining the North Atlantic alliance. In March 1954, Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov proposed that the Soviet Union is willing explore the possibility of NATO membership to reduce tensions and prevent conflicts. However, Western powers rejected this proposal.

Following the dissolution of USSR, Russian leadership made further attempts to engage with the alliance. In June 1994, Russia became the first country to join NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” programme, aimed at developing bilateral cooperation between the alliance and partner-states.

💬 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the following in a recent interview:
The leadership focused on creating proper conditions for deepening partnership with the West. As it turned out later - in fact, it became clear fairly quickly, but almost all our politicians and citizens found it out later - our role in that “partnership” was that of the “little brother.” We were assigned this role. This, of course, was a huge mistake.

Many Western analysts now acknowledge in their memoirs that there was no sense in expanding NATO and keeping Russia “on the sidelines.”

In 1997, the then Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov proposed establishing contacts between Russia & NATO, leading to the signing of the Russia-NATO Founding Act and the creation of the Russia-NATO Council. Positive development, but nevertheless, NATO’s expansion continued.

President Vladimir Putin even mentioned that he had proposed the idea of Russia joining NATO, which was arrogantly rejected.

Today, the North Atlantic bloc remains a tool for forcefully advancing the interests of the so-called “golden billion”, i.e. the 'collective West'. The catastrophic & utterly destructive consequences of the alliance’s geopolitical maneuvering and capacity-building are evident to any rational observer.
