Dr. Thomas Collins never planned to become part of the violent world of the Mexican cartels. A brilliant surgeon from Chicago, he moved to the border town of Nuevo Laredo after his divorce to head a medical assistance program for the poor.
For three years, he saved lives at the clinic, asking no unnecessary questions about the bullet wounds and knife cuts that brought patients to him in the middle of the night.
His life was turned upside down when a critically wounded man was brought into the clinic. Thomas performed a seven-hour surgery removing bullets from his body. The next morning he learned that he had saved the life of Diego Fuentes, the son of the head of the infamous Los Sangres cartel, which controls all drug trafficking in the region. In gratitude, Eduardo Fuentes, the cruel and ruthless cartel leader, offered Tomas fabulous money to work as their family's personal physician.
Tomas refused. He came here to help the poor, not to become a drug lord's servant. But the cartel world doesn't take no for an answer. A week later, he was kidnapped straight from the clinic and brought to the Fuentes' luxurious ranch.
“We have special plans for you, Doctor,” Eduardo said, showing Tomas a room filled with millions of dollars worth of medical equipment. “This is where you will work. Not for me - for my people.”
He explained that the cartel had begun a program to remove organs from “people who are no longer useful to society” - drug addicts, traitors, competitors. The organs would then be sold to wealthy clients around the world or used for cartel members and their families.
“You will perform these operations, doctor. If you don't, your ex-wife and ten-year-old daughter in Chicago will experience the kind of pain you can't even imagine.”
To confirm the seriousness of the threat, Eduardo showed Thomas a live feed: his daughter Emma playing in the yard of their Chicago home, with a man with “Los Sangres” tattooed on his neck standing nearby.
“And don't think about going to the police,” Eduardo added. “Half the local cops are on my payroll, and the other half are too intimidated to do anything about it. The feds can protect your family, but not forty-eight hours from now. By then, all that will be left of them will be fragments we'll mail to you for a year.”
As proof of his words, Eduardo took Tomas to an adjoining room where a prisoner was being held, a corrupt policeman who was cooperating with a rival cartel. In front of the doctor's eyes, the man had been brutally dismembered alive with a machete. “You see how we treat our enemies. But imagine what we would do to your little princess.”
That night, Thomas was locked up in a luxury apartment on the ranch property. The next morning, he was led to the operating room where a man was already lying strapped to a table. He was conscious but paralyzed by drugs.
“This is the informant who leaked the data to the police about our last shipment,” Eduardo explained. “His kidneys will now save the life of my cousin who is dying of kidney failure. The rest of the organs will bring us good money.”
Thomas was handed a surgical scalpel. “You have three choices, doctor,” Eduardo said with a smile that made his blood run cold. “The first is you perform the surgery and we become business partners. You'll live in luxury and your family will be safe while you do what we need you to do. Two - you refuse and we kill you right here and then send our men to your daughter. Three, you use this scalpel to slit your own throat. Then we'll leave your family alone - word of honor.”

Michael Sterling was a successful mechanical engineer with a loving wife and two daughters.
Ten years ago, his life fell apart overnight when two armed robbers broke into their home. Out of fright, one of them started shooting, killing Michael's wife and oldest daughter. He himself and the youngest daughter Emily miraculously survived - Michael covered her with his body, receiving two bullets in the back.
The criminals were quickly caught, but something happened that psychologically broke Michael finally.
Assistant District Attorney Alex Foster, afraid of losing the case because of procedural errors in the collection of evidence, went to a deal with the main suspect Raymond King. In exchange for testifying against accomplice Vincent Reed, King received only five years in prison. Reed was sentenced to death, but due to numerous appeals, the execution was constantly postponed.
Over the years, Michael has completely changed. Once an affable and sociable man turned into a recluse, devoting his entire life to a single goal. He sold the house, sent Emily to study in a closed school in Europe and disappeared from the sight of acquaintances. In fact, Michael used his engineering genius to systematically prepare to carry out his plan of retribution.
Ten years after the tragedy, Raymond King, long since released from prison, was found dead in his apartment. He was dying slowly and painfully from a poison that had been injected into his body through a specially designed mechanism. A note was found next to his body: “Justice has not been served, now it is time for justice.”
The next day, Judge Harrison, who presided over the trial, was killed under strange circumstances. Another day later, Reed's lawyer, who had filed endless appeals, delaying the execution of the sentence.
The police quickly got on Michael's trail, but he voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. In a holding cell, he met with now-District Attorney Alex Foster, the same one who had made a deal with his family's killer 10 years earlier.
Despite the clear evidence of guilt, Michael was in complete control. He informed Alex that he had set up several mechanisms in the city that would kill people connected to the judicial system, one a day. The only way to stop it was to let him go free or kill him. If he is killed, all the intended victims will die at the same time.
“You have to choose, Alex,” Michael said. “Break the law by letting me go, or abide by it and become an accessory to the deaths of innocent people. Just like you became an accessory when you let my family's killer go for the sake of your career.”
Alex knows for a fact that Michael isn't bluffing - the suspect's engineering genius is unquestionable, and his thirst for revenge is boundless. But Michael has also stated that Alex has a third option - confess publicly to manipulating the law throughout his career for the sake of high detection rates. This would ruin his career, but could potentially stop Michael.

James Harper has always considered his stepfather Robert Murphy a model man. Robert came into James' life when he was 12 years old, after the tragic death of his father.
During their 20 years together, Robert became a real father to James: he supported him in difficult moments, helped him with his studies, taught him everything he knew. Thanks to Robert, James studied to become a lawyer and now works in a prestigious firm.
All this idyllic picture collapsed when James accidentally stumbled upon a sealed envelope in Robert's office while looking for documents for a real estate deal. Inside were photographs, documents and witness statements indicating that thirty years ago, during a military conflict in an Eastern European country, Robert, as commander of a private military unit, had ordered a sweep of a small village, suspecting the locals of aiding and abetting the enemy.
The operation resulted in the deaths of 23 civilians, including women and children. The documents also contained information about how Robert had managed to avoid a tribunal through connections and bribes.
James was shocked. He secretly made copies of all the documents and hid them. He spent three days in agonizing reflection, trying to digest the information he had received. On the fourth day, he decided to talk to his stepfather.
What Robert told him only exacerbated his moral dilemma. The stepfather did not deny his involvement in the tragedy. In tears, he told how the events had haunted him all his life, how he had tried to redeem himself by anonymously helping victims of military conflicts and funding humanitarian missions. For the past 15 years, he has donated large sums every month to a fund supporting orphans in that very village. “I know it won't bring back the lives of the dead, but it's the only thing I can do,” he said.
But what particularly struck James was what Robert said at the end of the conversation: “I'm not going to stop you if you decide to go to law enforcement with this. Maybe finally getting the punishment I deserve is what I need for redemption.”
Now James is faced with the hardest choice. On the one hand, 23 innocent lives demand justice. On the other, Robert has become a real father to him, and seems genuinely remorseful and trying to redeem himself. Plus, his mother is genuinely happy with Robert.

You're Alex Reinhardt, a lawyer with a reputation for knowing how to win cases, even when the truth is as slippery as wet asphalt. You grew up in a working-class neighborhood where you learned to read people and find loopholes in the system - skills that later made you a star in legal circles.
Your wife Laura is not just your perfect life partner, but a former analyst at a major financial firm who gave up her career for her family after the birth of their second child.
You always appreciated her sharp mind, but in recent years she seemed more like a shadow of herself - withdrawn, aloof, with a wandering gaze that you wrote off as fatigue.
Your marriage wasn't smooth sailing. For 12 years you both learned to avoid sharp corners: you - immersed in work, she - in the care of children and strange “projects”, which she mentioned in passing. In the last six months, Laura began to leave frequently - then to “conferences”, then to an “old friend” you've never heard of. You noticed the way she hid her phone, the way her voice trembled when you asked about trivia. The tension grew, and one day you snapped: the yelling, the accusations, the slammed door. The next day, she's gone.
The police dig into your past and quickly find cracks. Your last big case was defending Victor Sullivan, a local businessman with shady connections. You got him out from under money laundering charges even though you knew he was guilty. The case brought you fame, money and the envy of your colleagues, but now it's boomeranging back. Among Laura's belongings, you find a second phone with correspondence from “The Shadow”-not just a blackmailer, but someone who knows more about your past than you're willing to admit. The messages hint at a debt Laura supposedly owes and dirt that could destroy not only your career, but your freedom.
Your friend Mark, a detective with a sharp tongue and a hidden grudge against your success, is on the case. He offers a deal: complete candor in exchange for protection. But his look betrays doubt-or worse. Laura's mother-in-law, Edith, has never liked you, believing you are “an upstart who stole her daughter.” Now she whispers to the neighbors that you've “always been unstable.” And then comes the letter: a photo of Laura, bound, with a note threatening the children in your handwriting-or a frighteningly accurate imitation of it.
The backstory goes back to your past. You received not only a fee for the Sullivan case, but also a tacit promise of “favors” from his people - favors you never asked for. Laura may have found out about it.
Or worse: she got in on the game herself, trying to protect the family from what you brought into the house.

Happy Cosmonautics Day!
Today, we celebrate humanity’s bold leap into the cosmos, honoring the courage of those who dared to explore beyond Earth.
On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin, a young fighter pilot from a small Russian village, became the first human to orbit our planet aboard Vostok 1.
His 108-minute journey, racing at 28,000 km/h, proved humans could survive in space and ignited the space race, inspiring generations of dreamers and scientists.
With his iconic cry of “Поехали!”, Gagarin’s mission sparked a legacy of exploration that continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Let’s raise our eyes to the stars and keep dreaming big!

All your life you've been a target. An object of ridicule. A “weirdo.” “Psycho.”
From your very first day at Westbrook High, you've learned what it means to be an outcast. Your mother - a religious fanatic who considers almost everything a manifestation of sin - never allowed you to dress like other teenagers, wear makeup, or even watch the same movies and listen to the same music as your peers. At home, you were expected to pray endlessly, read the Bible, and sometimes even be locked in a cramped closet to “atone for your sins.”
Christine Hargensen and her entourage made your school life a living hell. They invented new ways to humiliate you. Coke in the cafeteria. They spread the rumor that you had lice. They created a fake social media profile with distorted pictures of you and nasty comments. And when you had your first menstruation in the shower room after gym class and you panicked without realizing what was happening, they filmed it on their phones, threw tampons at you and yelled, “Shut up, psycho!”
The only ray of light in this darkness was Alex Chen, the quiet loner who once stood up for you and has been your only friend ever since. He's an outsider too, but by choice - too smart, too immersed in his science projects to care about social hierarchy.
And a month ago, something changed. After a particularly humiliating incident when Christina “accidentally” spilled a tray of food on you in the cafeteria, you ran into an empty biology classroom and, shaking with anger and humiliation, you noticed objects around you begin to shake and rise into the air. Shocked, you realized it had something to do with your emotions. Since then, you've been secretly practicing, discovering that you can move objects with your mind - first small objects like a pencil, then increasingly heavy objects, up to and including a chair.
And then yesterday, something incredible happened. Christina Hargensen - the same girl who has made your life a nightmare for years - suddenly came up to you between classes and asked you to prom. “It's not like anyone's going to ask you anyway,” she said with a smile that didn't reach your eyes. - And I'm breaking up with my boyfriend. So we could go together. Girlfriends."
Alex immediately warned you that this was a trap. "I heard them laughing in the locker room. They're up to something, something terrible," he said. But part of you, the part that always wanted to be just an ordinary teenager recognized by your peers, desperately wants to believe in the best.
Your mother, of course, went ballistic at the mere thought of prom. "Dancing is a sin! The desires of the flesh! The devil will take your soul!" - she screamed, threatening to lock you in the closet again.
Today is the last day to give Christina an answer. Tomorrow is graduation. And for the first time in your life, you have a remedy - your hidden power, growing every day. A power that can protect you. or punish those who deserve it.

You've come to New York to stay for a week at the apartment of a friend named Nick Fisher, who has suddenly disappeared. On the first day, two thugs break into the apartment, confuse you with Nick and without further ado take you to a man known in the criminal world simply as “The Boss”.
It turns out that Nick owes the Boss $96,000 for losing at a sweepstakes. Your attempts to explain that you are not Nick are perceived as a pathetic attempt to evade the debt. The Boss offers an unusual solution to the problem: he will “forgive” the debt if you kill the son of his competitor nicknamed “Rabbi.”
Barely back in Nick's apartment, you receive an “invitation” from other thugs, who deliver you to the Rabbi himself. By an incredible coincidence it turns out that Nick owes the same amount to Rabbi, who also offers a “discount” - kill the Boss's son and the debt will be forgiven.
Both criminal authorities gave you 2 days to complete the task. In case of refusal or attempt to escape - death.
Oddities multiply when you meet Nick's neighbor, pathologist Lindsay. With her help, you begin to unravel this tangle of “coincidences.” You learn of the existence of a legendary hitman called Goodkat, who is rumored to have carried out orders for both the Boss and the Rabbi.
Further investigation leads to a shocking revelation: twenty years ago, the Boss and the Rabbi jointly ordered the murder of a bookie named Max and his family over a huge betting match. All but a little boy were killed. All indications are that the current events are part of a carefully planned revenge, and you were not dragged into it by accident.

A revolutionary breakthrough in the field of neural interfaces has occurred in the laboratories of NeuroSync Technologies.
After decades of research and billions of dollars of investment, scientists have managed to create the world's first fully functional neurochip NEXUS-1.
The results of clinical trials are astounding. Implantation of the chip into the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus of test participants led to:
- Increase in IQ by 40-70 points
- Expansion of working memory by 3-5 times
- Accelerate information processing by up to 200%
- Significant increase in forecasting and creative thinking abilities
- Possibilities of direct access to external databases
Unlike previous technological revolutions, this one affects the very essence of human cognition and can forever change the path of civilization.
The problem is that the creation and implantation of one NEXUS-1 neurochip costs about $4.7 million. Scaling up production in the coming years can reduce the cost, but not more than to $1-2 million.
You are a member of the newly created International Committee on Neurotechnology, a body given exclusive authority by the UN and major powers to regulate the deployment of this technology. Your decision will determine who will receive this unprecedented cognitive power and how it will be integrated into society.
The spread of NEXUS-1 could create a cognitive divide unlike any other - a world where the enhanced are as intellectually superior to ordinary humans as adults are superior to infants. Literally, two different species of Homo: the normal and the enhanced.
How should this distribution occur? Who will have superhuman cognitive abilities? Is it possible to maintain relative equality in a world where some can think hundreds of times more efficiently than others?
Not only is the fate of the technology at stake, but the fundamental future of humanity.

Thirty years ago, the NewLife Foundation created a unique experiment - a fully controlled environment the size of a small town where a newborn orphan named David could grow up, unaware that every aspect of his life was part of a global study and reality TV show.
Every person in David's life is an actor following a script. Every building is packed with hidden cameras. The experiment is broadcast around the world, garnering an audience of over 200 million viewers and generating billions of dollars in revenue.
Dr. Sarah Mitchell, the project's lead psychologist, joined the project fifteen years ago, impressed by the unprecedented research possibilities. But now she faces a serious ethical dilemma.
David, now a 30-year-old architect, began to notice oddities in his world. His diary began to contain entries about how the reality around him seemed artificial. He develops symptoms of depression and paranoia.
The corporate sponsors insist on continuing the experiment indefinitely. They have ordered an increased dose of antidepressants in David's water supply and are planning a new plot twist - marrying his girlfriend “Emma” and having children who would become second generation participants in the experiment.
Dr. Mitchell must now decide how to proceed. Whatever her choice, the consequences will be irreversible for both David and the entire project.
