The Father was neither made nor created nor begotten from anyone.
The Son was neither made nor created;
he was begotten from the Father alone.
The Holy Spirit was neither made nor created nor begotten;
he proceeds from the Father and the Son.

And we have learned that those only are deified who have lived near to God in holiness and virtue; and we believe that those who live wickedly and do not repent are punished in everlasting fire.

2nd Helvetic Confession Chapter 11
THE SECTS.

We therefore condemn all who deny a real resurrection of the flesh (II Tim. 2:18), or who with John of Jerusalem, against whom Jerome wrote, do not have a correct view of the glorification of bodies. We also condemn those who thought that the devil and all the ungodly would at some time be saved, and that there would be an end to punishments. For the Lord has plainly declared: "Their fire is not quenched, and their worm does not die" (Mark 9:44). We further condemn Jewish dreams that there will be a golden age on earth before the Day of Judgment, and that the pious, having subdued all their godless enemies, will possess all the kingdoms of the earth. For evangelical truth in Matt., chs. 24 and 25, and Luke, ch. 18, and apostolic teaching in II Thess., ch. 2, and II Tim., chs. 3 and 4, present something quite different.

Lord’s Day 22

57.Q. How does “the resurrection of the body” comfort you?

A. Not only my soul will be taken immediately after this life to Christ its head, but even my very flesh, raised by the power of Christ, will be reunited with my soul and made like Christ’s glorious body.
Luke 23:431 Corinthians 15:20,42-46,54Philippians 1:21-23Philippians 3:211 John 3:2.

58.Q. How does the article concerning “life everlasting” comfort you?

A. Even as I already now experience in my heart the beginning of eternal joy, so after this life I will have perfect blessedness such as no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no man has ever imagined: a blessedness in which to praise God eternally.
John 17:3Romans 14:171 Corinthians 2:9.

Belgic Confession Article 18
Frederick III (born Jan. 17, 1463, Torgau, Saxony—died May 5, 1525, Lochau, near Torgau) was the elector of Saxony who worked for constitutional reform of the Holy Roman Empire and protected Martin Luther after Luther was placed under the imperial ban in 1521.

XXXIX. We believe that God wishes to have the world governed by
laws and magistrates, so that some restraint may be put upon its
disordered appetites. And as he has established kingdoms, republics, and
all sorts of principalities, either hereditary or otherwise, and all that
belongs to a just government, and wishes to be considered as their
Author, so he has put the sword into the hands of magistrates to suppress
crimes against the first as well as against the second table of the
Commandments of God. We must therefore, on his account, not only
submit to them as superiors, but honor and hold them in all reverence as
his lieutenants and officers, whom he has commissioned to exercise a
legitimate and holy authority.

XL. We hold, then, that we must obey their laws and statutes, pay
customs, taxes, and other dues, and bear the yoke of subjection with a
good and free will, even if they are unbelievers, provided that the
sovereign empire of God remain intact. Therefore we detest all those who
would like to reject authority, to establish community and confusion of
property, and overthrow the order of justice.

Lord’s Day 21

54.Q. What do you believe concerning the “Holy Catholic Church”?

A. I believe that the Son of God, through His Spirit and Word, out of the entire human race, from the beginning of the world to its end, gathers, protects, and preserves for Himself a community chosen for eternal life and united in true faith. And of this community I am and always will be a living member.

Genesis 26:3,4Isaiah 59:21Matthew 16:18John 10:14-16,27-30Acts 2:42-47Acts 20:28Romans 8:28-30Romans 10:14-171 Corinthians 1:4-91 Corinthians 11:26Ephesians 1:3-14Ephesians 4:1-6Colossians 1:181 Peter 1:3-51 John 3:14,19-21Revelation 5:9.

55.Q. What do you understand by “the communion of saints”?

A. First, that believers one and all, as members of this community, share in Christ and in all His treasures and gifts. Second, that each member should consider it his duty to use his gifts readily and cheerfully for the service and enrichment of the other members.

Romans 8:32Romans 12:4-81 Corinthians 6:171 Corinthians 12:4-7,12,13,20-271 Corinthians 13:1-7Philippians 2:4-81 John 1:3.

56.Q. What do you believe concerning “the forgiveness of sins”?

A. I believe that God, because of Christ’s atonement, will never hold against me any of my sins nor my sinful nature which I need to struggle against all my life. Rather, in His grace God grants me the righteousness of Christ to free me forever from judgment.

Psalm 103:3,4,10,12Micah 7:18,19John 3:17,18Romans 7:21-25Romans 8:1,22 Corinthians 5:18-211 John 1:71 John 2:2.

Isaiah 47 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

The Bible here calls (unveiled) uncovered hair, legs and thighs a woman's nakedness. Of course, it was the standard in the west for women to wear skirts reaching to their knees at a minimum to cover their nakedness in the west for all of history until about 80 years ago. Unfortunately this timeless wisdom and knowledge has been almost completely forgotten today.
Johannes Bugenhagen (24 June 1485 – 20 April 1558)

also called Doctor Pomeranus by Martin Luther, was a German theologian and Lutheran priest who introduced the Protestant Reformation in the Duchy of Pomerania and Denmark in the 16th century. Contributions of Karlstadt and Luther to the translation of theology into social legislation were most fully realized by Bugenhagen. Among his major accomplishments was organization of Lutheran churches in Northern Germany and Scandinavia. He has also been called the "Second Apostle of the North".

Johannes Bugenhagen was pastor to Martin Luther at St. Mary's church in Wittenberg. He is also commemorated in the Calendar of Saints of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod as a pastor on 20 April.
