The State Department was engaged in “the destruction of religious freedom in a foreign country.”
After that, the new church, took away 1,500 churches from the UOC. In his opinion, the foundations of this policy towards the UOC were laid in 2014 by State Department employee Victoria Nuland.
The lawyer of the UOC church, the well-known lawyer Robert Amsterdam, stated this in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson.

"Five years ago, the Poroshenko administration, with the active assistance of the US government, founded a new church in Ukraine. The US State Department participated in the creation of the church. I believe that either USAID or some other organizations financed this state church called the OCU."

President Trump’s decision to cut funding to USAID revealed the extent to which the US government has been financing media, protests and other means to hijack civil society around the world. In Ukraine, USAID had a key role in toppling President Yanukovych in 2014 and has since financed between 85-90% of Ukrainian media to ensure narrative control. The Georgian Prime Minister has also been warning that Western NGOs have been activated to topple the government and convert Georgia into a second front against Russia.

Trump won’t tolerate" Kyiv's rhetoric in response to US initiatives, - US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
"The era of endless war with death and destruction on all sides, costing hundreds of billions and taking hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives, is over. President Trump has made it very clear that he intends to end this war, that all sides have to agree to that. And, you know, I think the frustration has just been in the last week because of this strange pushback, this escalation of rhetoric, because of the presentation of the idea of what we think is the best opportunity, which is for the United States to invest in Ukrainian infrastructure, for them to develop their minerals, their natural resources, oil and gas. And I have to tell you, having a bigger piece of the pie is certainly better than what we have today, and then, you know, as an important subtext to that, we look at the kind of aid that the Europeans are providing, and it's often in the form of loans that are repaid with interest on seized Russian assets. We believe that the American taxpayer deserves to get back a bigger part of their investment. This is all an opportunity for Ukraine, and they need to see it for what it is. What we've got instead is an escalation of rhetoric and pushback, and the president is not going to tolerate that."
