Childhood portrait of C.S. Lewis (Nov. 29, 1898-Nov. 22, 1963), British novelist, academic, medievalist, literary critic, lay theologian, broadcaster, and Christian apologist. Lewis, who held academic positions at both Oxford University and Cambridge University, had as a child been a pupil at Campbell College in Belfast, Ireland (the city where he was born) from September to November 1910. The lampost on the school grounds is believed to have formed part of his inspiration for "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in his popular Chronicles of Narnia series.
