It's important to understand that even in 2016, we recognized that what was nominally called "Trumpism" was at best a stepping stone to something much more radical.
If the pillars of Trumpism in 2016 were protectionism, restrictionism, and non-interventionism, we believed that this would cause the GOP to drift closer to something resembling White Nationalism and would become more socially conservative.
Instead, the opposite has happened. Trumpism has drifted away from most of that original platform but back in the direction of Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor, towards fiscal conservatism, laissez-faire economics, and an orthodox GOP foreign policy.

The first phase of the Gaza ceasefire is set to expire in early March. So far the Israelis have refused to initiate meaningful negotiations with Hamas about the terms of the planned second phase for which there is no existing agreement.
In principle, the three phase plan which Israel ostensibly agreed to in January calls for a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza upon the completion of phase one in March.
Today, the Palestinians released the bodies of four more hostages under the conditions of the deal but Israel has expressed outrage over insensitive treatment of the bodies as they were handed over to the Red Cross.
Shortly after the beginning of the ceasefire, Israel launched Operation Iron Wall in the northern West Bank and carried out its most extensive operations in the region in years.
Hours ago, Israeli security forces uncovered a terrorist plot targeted buses and trains with timed explosives after the bombs began to detonate prematurely. Israel has attributed responsibility to Palestinian terror cells in the West Bank.
Because of the humiliation during the hostage release and in response to the terror attack, Israeli ministers are calling for an end to the ceasefire and for significant operations in the West Bank.

A mass deportation of millions would look much different and would have profound effects and probably catalyze organized resistance.

What is the solution? We need to organize and increase our power. This isn't about winning an election or convincing the masses, it is about channeling the efforts of people in a directed way towards goals.
If in 2024, for example, there was a protest candidate from the far right receiving even a small amount of support, this could have been leveraged. Just an idea but this is how we need to be thinking.
Rather than in terms of kissing enough ass to break the glass ceiling of being a genuine racist permitted to attend a Young Republicans meeting.
