Dear friends, please pray for Myanmar!
Our land has been drowning in suffering since the military coup, layered upon the wounds of the pandemic. War has stolen our loved ones, forcing us to flee, and now the earthquake has come to crush the little hope we had left.
Every news update is like a knife to the heart. We struggle to breathe as we wait for the next tragic headline. Today, in Singapore, a woman ended her own life after learning that her family was buried alive beneath the earthquake's rubble. She could not bear the pain. And we—who remain—live in terror of every message, every notification, asking the same unbearable question, Is my family still alive?
We sought refuge in Malaysia, believing we had found safety. But instead, we live in constant fear—hunted, unwanted. Operasi (raids) have turned our dream of security into a nightmare. We cannot return home, yet even here, we find no rest, no protection. Every night, our hearts pound with fear. Every day, we wonder—will we be arrested? Deported? Sent back to a place where death is certain?i
Is this what life is meant to be? An endless cycle of suffering? Oh Lord, do You hear our cries? Are we still human in this world?
Please, if you hear this plea, hold us in your prayers. Let the world not forget us. Let mercy find its way to us.
God bless!
