Hi friends!

Our friend Nikolai Parkhitko will give his next history lecture on World War II this Friday 11 April at 21:00 (Moscow time).

Topic: The Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ☢️

During the lecture the following questions will be revealed:
👇

2. Was it necessary to demonstrate nuclear weapons?

3. What are the international consequences of the use of nuclear weapons by the US ?

Let me remind you that Nicholas has:

• PhD in History (his doctor research devoted to the topic of our lecture);

• Associate Professor of the RUDN University named after Patrice Lumumba and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation;

Friends, I invite you to another lecture on Russian history.

The lecture will take place this Sunday 6 April at 19:00 (Moscow time).

A few words why we hold these lectures?
🔸 In Russia people love the history of their country and are proud of the feats of their ancestors. And there were a lot of such feats - I think it would be enough for dozens of countries.
🔸 Russians have great respect for foreigners who study the Russian language and, most importantly, the history of Russia.
🔸 People who know the Russian language (not necessarily perfectly) and know the history of Russia in Russia will always be loved, respected and helped.
🔸 I think it's no secret that our company helps foreigners move to Russia.
🔸 And we really want foreigners to be at home in Russia (both materially and spiritually).
🔸 We hope that our attempts to help you will really help you.

Until 9 May (Victory Day) all our lectures will be related to the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945 🫡

Future lecture topic:
The Battle of Stalingrad. People. Chronicle

During the lecture you will learn 👇

1. About the largest battle of WWII, during which over 91 thousand German soldiers were taken prisoner.

2. Why Hitler was so eager to capture Stalingrad.

3. About the role of women in this battle.

4. Who Vasily Zaitsev was and what feat he accomplished.

5. About Stalin's order, which is known to the people under the name, ‘Not a step back’.

The lecture will be given by our teacher Ekaterina from St. Petersburg.
Ekaterina is a historian by education and teaches this subject!

Access to the lecture is free of charge.
The lecture will be in online format.

P.S: ‘To retreat further means to ruin ourselves and at the same time to ruin our Motherland... From now on, the iron law of discipline for every commander, Red Army soldier, political worker should be the requirement - not a step back without an order from the high command...’.
Last Saturday I attended an Orthodox talk with Mother Lyudmila (pictured), the wife of the abbot of the Nikolo-Perervinsky Monastery (Moscow).
At this talk, Mother said one important thought that I would like to share with you.

This concerns divorces: in recent years, there have been a lot of divorces in families in Russia. This was not the case before, and what is the reason for this?

Let's remember how people treated things 20-30 years ago. People used to take care of things, and instead of throwing them away, they repaired them. And in most cases, they did it themselves.

Men themselves fixed teapots, irons, washing machines, repaired cars themselves, soldered, dug and did much more. I remember this from my parents.

Women sewed clothes themselves, darned pants, shirts, socks for the whole family, washed, removed stains from clothes, etc.

And I myself, when I was a child of about 12, sewed the soles to boots that regularly fell off because of playing football. There was no talk about football boots then.

Now, many, instead of repairing things, just throw them away and buy new ones: why waste time fixing something - it's easier to buy.

This attitude to household things also extends to family relationships - instead of "repairing" the relationship with a spouse, many choose to "throw away": get a divorce, replace a husband or wife. It's easier and faster.

There is something to think about… 🧐
