“Mother Earth’s medicine chest is full of healing herbs of incomparable worth.”
It has been over a decade since I last turned to over-the-counter medications for everyday health concerns. Instead, I reach for nature’s remedies first. I use eucalyptus to clear my sinuses during a cold, peppermint to ease a headache, chamomile tea to calm anxiety, calendula oil to soothe a bug bite or eczema flare-up, lavender to promote restful sleep, and tea tree to tackle blemishes. I love ginger when my stomach is upset, arnica to soothe pain, aloe vera to alleviate burns.
What is even more amazing, is that I see my children doing the same. 👏 I notice my daughter will go pick lemon balm from the garden when she is upset. Or my son will make a plantain poultice for an itchy mosquito bite. They use bee propolis when they have a sore throat. And the first thing my kids do when they have a headache? They drink a big glass of water.
Time and time again, these natural solutions have proven to be not only fast and effective but also free from the harsh side effects of conventional medicine. Choosing plant-based remedies has been a game changer for my wellbeing, and I’ve never felt healthier or more in tune with my body.

🍏 Apple Slices in Syrup
🫙 Ingredients and preparation of apple slices in syrup:
➡️ Slice the apples and arrange them into jars (0.5 and 0.7 L).
➡️ Add 3-5 peppercorns and 3-5 cloves to the bottom of each jar.
➡️ Pour boiling water into the jars and let them sit for 15 minutes.
➡️ Drain the water into a saucepan, add sugar—1 cup (230 g) per jar—and another cup of boiled water.
➡️ Bring the syrup to a boil, adding 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of vanilla.
➡️ Once boiling, pour the syrup into the jars up to the top and seal them.

During spring, mama rabbits often build shallow nests right in the middle of lawns, flower beds, or under bushes — sometimes so well hidden you might not notice them at all. 🐰💛
These babies are tiny, quiet, and left alone for most of the day, which makes them especially vulnerable during yard work. A single rake or mower could be deadly.
🌱 Before mowing, digging, or clearing brush:
✔️ Check for any signs of fur-lined nests
✔️ Gently inspect tall grass or thick ground cover
✔️ Avoid disturbing known bunny spots
A few extra minutes of care can save a whole nest of baby bunnies. Let’s protect our wild little neighbors this season! 🐇💚
