🇬🇧"RETURNING TO STATE PROPERTY": THE AUTHORITY IS PREPARING TO EXPROPRIATE ONE MORE UOC MONASTERY❗️

The Economic Court of Zhytomyr Region canceled the private ownership for the St. Basil's Convent in Ovruch on February 24, 2025. The monastery buildings are a monument of cultural heritage and, although they have been in private ownership since 2006, they will be "returned to state ownership," reports "Suspilne.Zhytomyr".

The lawyer of the UOC monastery indicated that the statute of limitations had long expired, but the court ignored this position.

Back on March 23, 2006, the executive committee of the Ovruch City Council adopted Decision No. 82 “On registration of ownership rights to real estate objects owned by legal entities and individuals.” However, according to the court, it was adopted with an excess of authority and in the absence of a decision of the owner (authorized state body) on changing the legal status of state property.
“This decision is illegal and subject to cancellation,” the court believes.

The lawyer for the St. Basil’s Convent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church emphasized that the monastery did not and could not have been able to verify the legality of the decision of the local government body, did not commit any violations, and acted lawfully.

“The subject of the disputed legal relationship is the object – the household of the convent, therefore, the general limitation period of THREE YEARS applies to the claims, which began on 03/23/2006 and, accordingly, ended on 03/24/2009.
The prosecutor filed a corresponding claim with the court on 06/11/2024, that is, more than 18 years after the adoption of the contested decision and the expiration of the limitation period,” – the lawyer’s quote.

A similar scheme for alienating property was successfully implemented in Chernihiv. On January 16, 2025, the Supreme Court refused to satisfy the claim of the Chernihiv Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church regarding the right to use the complex of the Holy Trinity Yelets Convent of the 12th-17th centuries. Now the Ministry of Culture will do whatever it wants in the temple.

And regarding Ovruch, we already wrote in 2022 that the authorities were giving an ultimatum: either the priests of the UOC will transfer to the OCU or they must vacate the churches.

The deputies of the Ovruch City Council even formalized this in the criminal Resolution No. 1255 of April 27, 2022 “On the Appeal of the Deputies of the Ovruch City Council to the Clergy and Parishioners of the UOC Parishes,” where they declared nonsense that the UOC “appropriated the name “Ukrainian Orthodox Church”” and is conducting anti-state activities.

The voting took place at the Nativity of the Theotokos Church, as well as at St. Nicholas Church and St. Spyridon Church.
"At 16:00, the three communities together proceeded in a cross procession to the center of Sadgora, where they gathered at the local cultural center to jointly serve an Akathist to St. Nicholas and a prayer service for the health of Ukrainian soldiers," the statement reads.
The diocese's press service also noted that at 17:00, a cultural and educational event was scheduled at the cultural center, where unidentified individuals allegedly planned to claim ownership of three Orthodox churches in Sadgora, the Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael the Archangel, and a synagogue on Yaroslav Mudryi Street.
Foreign journalists observed the events.

Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Maliuk stated in a comment to Livyi Bereh that the European Union has allegedly imposed certain sanctions against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).

“These [sanctions] have been implemented both in Europe and in Ukraine. But this work continues. In particular, the initiator is the Czech Republic. And we have worked on this together with our Czech colleagues. I continue this work. It is indeed a top-priority direction. At the same time, we remain committed to the principle of freedom of conscience and religion. There can be no doubts about that… If the 'ears' of Russian intelligence services are visible there, we will act accordingly,” Maliuk stated.
According to the LB editorial team, Maliuk was commenting on information that “the latest sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) against certain individuals were introduced, among other reasons, due to identified cases of financing public organizations in the EU that engage in anti-Ukrainian activities and are linked to Russians, including religious communities.”

“As soon as there are sufficient grounds, we will implement this,” Maliuk said when asked whether such work could serve as a basis for introducing new NSDC sanctions.

◾️Shameful persecutions against the defenders of the UOC St. Michael's Cathedral in Cherkassy are going on.

They are a continuation of the bloody massacre organized by the OCU militants.

Some days ago, the first court hearing took place in the case against the carer of the Martha and Mary Sisterhood, Father Oleksandr Smyk.

The courageous priest, who defended the shrine, was tried to be incriminated under Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - Hooliganism.

All these cases against Orthodox Christians began to appear immediately after the report of the UN Monitoring Mission, which recorded the attack of militants and OCU raiders on the cathedral. 2 months after the events.

According to our information, the prosecutor's office brought to court an incomprehensible video in which 2 people collided in the chaos of the assault, people lift them up, and they left.
Obviously, while realizing that the case cannot be closed with this, the prosecutor himself offered a reconciliation agreement.

Can you imagine, they tried to incriminate the priest with a serious criminal case, the punishment for which is imprisonment, for the fact that in the confusion he collided with another and himself fell.

At the same time, the case of monk Nektariy, who was beaten by OCU militants, who was broken his femur and damaged his ribs, is classified as an administrative "Minor hooliganism", with a penalty of a fine.

It seems that this senseless case against Father Oleksandr was made solely for the existence of the case itself. And now they are trying to back down.

From February 11 to 13, 2025, court hearings were to be held in Sloviansk and Kryvyi Rih concerning the case against the vicar of the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra, the Svyatogirsk Metropolitan Arseny.

These preparatory hearings in Sloviansk did not take place due to the impossibility of assembling the completed court team.
Since the presiding judge made a tight schedule of hearings without previously coordinating it with any of the lawyers, this leads to the imposition of hearings with the defenders of Metropolitan Arseny, who are also involved in other cases.

❗The next session of the Sloviansk court is to be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m.

It is to decide on the defense's motion to broadcast the hearings in the case against Bishop Arseny on YouTube "Judiciary of Ukraine" and on the portal of the same name.

◾️Orthodox Bukovinians have proved many times that they are vigilant in the defence of their shrines and the faith of their ancestors.

Today, we would like to pay our respects and thanks to the Bukovinian Christians for the new and glorious episodes of Christian bravery that have recently appeared, once again raising their voices against injustice and persecutions.

The case is that throughout recent weeks, raiders from the OCU have been especially active in the Chernivtsi region.

The odious raider Roman Grischuk and his gang are touring various settlements with the same song of hatred and raiders scheme of virtual transitions to the OCU.

The targets of the raiders over the past few years have been the parishes of the UOC in Dubivtsi, Pidzakharichi, Verkhnikh Stanivtsi, Ust-Putili and Storozhyntsi.

In all these villages, Epiphany's raiders began falsifying documents with the aim to seize churches.

But Bukovinians do not passively watch this deception and false gatherings that have a goal to take their churches and to destroy the UOC in the region. Orthodox Ukrainians bravely defend their shrines.

They carefully and thoughtfully organized their defence. So, the evils that are being prepared now can be seen by everyone.

After the official appointment, they gave birth to pathetic excuses. Moreover, they were also false.

We recall that the CCD has been saying for years that Gabbard “spreads Russian narratives” for “Kremlin money.”

Now the pocket Cerberus of the National Security and Defense Council claim that the publications were “unfounded” and “did not meet the standards of the Center.”

Archbishop Pimen recorded a video message in which he noted that the ascent to Sinai is not only a physical test, but also a spiritual work filled with prayer.

On January 30, 2025, pilgrims of the UOC Rivne diocese, led by Rivne and Ostroh Archbishop Pimen, ascended the Holy Mount Sinai - the place where the Lord revealed Himself to Moses and gave the Ten Commandments, the diocesan press service reports.

During the pilgrimage, Archbishop Pimen recorded a video message in which he noted that the ascent of Sinai is not only a physical test, but also a spiritual work filled with prayer. Each pilgrim, climbing to the top, carried in his heart his personal requests to God. Particular attention during the Divine Liturgy was given to prayers for peace and tranquility in Ukraine.

The Archbishop emphasized that the pilgrimage to Mount Sinai symbolizes a person’s meeting with God, and for believers this ascent was sanctified by prayer and deep faith. He noted that the ascent of this holy mountain is not just overcoming a physical path, but a deep spiritual work filled with prayer. Each step of the pilgrims was sanctified by faith and trust in God. The Archbishop emphasized that at the top of Sinai, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for every Ukrainian, and for the preservation of the Ukrainian people.

He expressed hope that the Lord would hear their prayers and help people love His commandments with all their hearts and souls. The Archbishop also mentioned that the pilgrims prayed not only for peace, but also for love for one's neighbor and the desire for peace and harmony to settle in the heart of every Ukrainian. The Bishop believes that it is through the fulfillment of the commandments and sincere prayer that the people will be able to find inner peace and unity, and the country will be able to prosper.
