No to Normalisation and Neutrality!
The mission of Imam Husayn (AS) was not just about mourning... it was about standing against oppression. Yet today, there are attempts to separate his sacrifice from its true purpose: resistance against tyranny and injustice.
Imam Ali (AS) reminds us in Nahjul Balagha (Sermon 201) that silence in the face of evil makes us complicit. The people of Thamud were punished not just because of the sinner, but because of the community’s silence.
To remain neutral is to stand with the oppressor. As followers of the Ahlulbayt (AS), our duty is clear: to resist injustice, to speak the truth, and to never normalise relations with the oppressors.
No to Neutrality. No to Normalisation. Yes to Justice and Resistance.
Labayk Ya Mahdi!

Comprehending the Basis of Preparation
Written by Shaykh Muhammad M. Khalfan
As we draw near to the 15th of the Holy month of Sha‘ban al-Mu‘azzam which marks the birthday of the Imam of our time (AS), a number of us are busy with different kinds of spiritual movements.
Some are preparing their journey to Karbala to benefit from the special grace that descends on the night of the 15th when 124,000 Divine Prophets apart from the Divine Angels come to pay salutation to Imam al-Husayn (AS), some are steadfastly fasting this whole month in assimilation to the Holy Prophet (s), some are busy organising sessions of celebration, and some are heading to other holy sites.
Such movements are actually movements of belief, veneration, love, expression of allegiance to the Imam of the time, etc. Hence they must be encouraged in a wide scale. However they must not be limited to the holy month of Sha‘ban.
Imam al-Hujjah (‘a) is our Imam at each and every moment, and thus we must try to know him better, cultivate intense love and attachment for him, establish connection with him through supplications like that of al-nudbah and al-‘ahd, and truly prepare for his arrival.
In these few lines, we would like to think about the process of preparation for his arrival and reappearance among the people. This is a profound and detailed subject and it entails a separate work. What we would like to emphasise and stress here is ‘the basis of preparation’.
The fundamental step towards preparation is the comprehension and implementation of the correct worldview which also includes the leadership of the Imam of the time and our duties towards him.
If we have not understood this aspect, then we must begin and gradually solidify our personality with its reality. It is after such solidification, that our ‘foundation’ of preparation will be meaningful, and its tree will grow giving branches that spread high towards the sky, and giving fruit moment after moment by the leave of God.
Small wonder that we are advised by Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) to recite the following supplication during the absence of our 12th Holy Imam (‘a): ‘O Allah make me know Your Self, for indeed if you do not make me know Your Self, I will not know Your Prophet; O Allah, make me know Your Messenger, for indeed if you do not make me know Your Messenger, I will not know Your Proof (Hujjah- i.e. the Imam of the time); O Allah, make me know Your Proof, for if You do not make me know Your proof, I will stray from my religion.’ (Shaykh Kulayni, al-Kafi, v.1, p. 337)
This beautiful supplication which was actually given for those who are waiting for the Imam of the time, informs us what the basis of intidhaar (waiting) truly is.’ Hence, while we continue the beautiful movement of love for our Imam, it is important for us to realise and actualise the truth of the foundation of preparation.

A Farewell with the Imam (AJTF)
For all those who have the blessing to attend the funeral today, and Insha'Allah, who will walk in that solemn procession, understand that you are part of a moment far deeper than it appears. Take a moment to look around at the faces in the crowd, at every soul gathered there.
Look closely, for among them may be the Imam of our time, peace be upon him, standing quietly, observing with a heart that carries the weight of this world. You may not recognise him, but know that he will be there. He must be there, for how could he not honour the farewell of one of his loyal soldiers?
Consider this: you might tread on the very earth he stepped upon, or perhaps the dust from his blessed feet may brush against you. Imagine that blessing. And with that possibility, greet him. Greet him with a heart that aches with longing. Introduce yourself... not just with your name, but with the burning love and loyalty you carry for him.
Tell him that amidst the sorrow and the heavy hearts at this funeral, our deepest yearning is to see his face, to meet him, even if just for a fleeting moment.
Tell him that the covenant we carry is not merely words... it is a bond sealed with our blood and the blood of our children. It is a promise that, Insha'Allah, we will stand firm in our loyalty to him, to his path, and to the truth that our master taught us to walk upon in this world. We pray to be among his followers in this life and in the Hereafter.
To all those who will attend, please, take our greetings to our master, the beloved of our hearts. Convey to him the love of those who could not be there... those held back by hardship, by illness, by weakness, or by circumstances beyond their control. Speak to him on behalf of all who ache to see him but cannot attend.
Let him know that, Insha'Allah, we remain true to the covenant. Our hearts are tied to his mission, and our souls yearn to see the day when his justice fills this earth.
And why would he not attend the funeral of his soldier? He would be there because every martyr who falls is a piece of his own heart, every loyal soul is a flame that keeps his mission alive. He would stand quietly among us, mourning yet proud, watching over those who stood firm for truth. For the Imam is not just a leader... he is a father, a shepherd to his flock. And no father abandons his child, especially not in the final farewell.
So look closely. Feel deeply. And remember that you are walking in the presence of greatness, whether your eyes can see it or not.

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful,
To the believers awaiting the reappearance of our Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF), we remind you of the importance of safeguarding the timings of prayers. It has been narrated from Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) that he saiid:
من أخر المغرب حتى تشتبك النجوم من غير علة فأنا إلى الله منه برئ
"Whoever delays the Maghrib prayer until the stars become visible without a valid excuse, I disassociate myself from him before Allah."
Amali al-Saduq, page 236
Bihar al-Anwar,, volume 80, page 60
In this noble hadith, the Imam (AS) highlights the seriousness of delaying the Maghrib prayer until the stars are visible in the sky, emphasising the necessity of performing it at its prescribed time without delay.
It is also reported that during the period of Ghaybat-e-Sughra (the Minor Occultation), Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF) expressed his discontent with meeting someone who delays the Maghrib prayer until the stars appear or delays the Fajr prayer until the stars disappear. This guidance reinforces the importance of adhering to the prescribed prayer times, as they are the pillars of faith and the foundation of closeness to Allah SWT.
Therefore, we must strive to perform our prayers on time, seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT and the intercession of Ahlulbayt (AS).

What are our duties during the occultation of Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF)?
Our duties during the Ghaibah (occultation) of Imam al-Mahdi (AJTF) are very much the same duties we have during his presence. Even though we can not see the Imam (AJTF), he watches us and oversees our acts and conduct.

The Miracle of Hadith al-Kisa
The remarkable healing of a young girl battling cancer through the recitation of Hadith al-Kisa
Narrated by Haj Agha Sayyid Mohammad Alavi Gorgani, as shared by Hujjat al-Islam Ustad Farahzad:
'The son of Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani, who leads prayers and gives sermons at the Jameh Mosque of Gorgan under the name Haj Agha Sayyid Mohammad Alavi, recounted this story:
He said, "Every once in a while, I announce that after the sermon, we will recite Hadith al-Kisa. Anyone who is ready can stay."
One night, we recited Hadith al-Kisa. The next night, as I was about to enter the mosque, I saw a woman with improper hijab standing in my path. She said, "Haj Agha, I have an urgent matter." She was crying a lot and said, "I was not someone who prayed, wore hijab, or came to the mosque. I was tired and was just passing by when I saw benches and chairs in the mosque courtyard, so I thought I would sit and rest."
"I noticed it was time for Maghrib prayer, and several congregational prayers were being held. Your prayer hall attracted me because my heart was broken for my young daughter, who had leukemia, and the doctors had given up on her. I thought I would perform ablution and pray, so I came to your prayer hall. You announced that you were going to recite Hadith al-Kisa, and I had heard that Hadith al-Kisa grants wishes."
"That night, I cried a lot, and my heart was broken. I turned to Lady Fatimah Zahra (peace be upon her) for the healing of my daughter who had cancer."
She said, "The gathering ended, and I went home. My daughter, who was undergoing treatment and needed blood formation in her body, used to drink a lot of water. I would leave a pitcher of water beside her bed at night. That night, she didn't wake up to drink water. In the middle of the night, she woke up and called out to me, saying, 'Mom, get up and bid farewell.' I said, 'No one has come, who should I bid farewell to?'"
"She said, 'Yes, don’t you see? The Prophet of God, Lady Fatimah Zahra, Ameer al-Mo’mineen, Imam Hasan, and Imam Husayn (peace be upon them) have come?' I told her, 'My dear, there is no one here.' She said, 'No, I was asleep when I saw a lady enter the room and said, "I am Fatimah Zahra (peace be upon her)." Then, all five members of the Ahl al-Kisa entered. Lady Zahra (peace be upon her) said, "Your mother turned to me, recited Hadith al-Kisa, and asked for your healing. I want to pray for your recovery."'
This girl continued, 'As Lady Zahra (peace be upon her) was sitting, she extended her hand out the window, and when she brought it back in, she had a glass with half of it filled with water. She handed it to me and said, "This is the remainder of my son Mahdi's (peace be upon him and may Allah hasten his reappearance) glass of water." She gave me the glass, and I drank it. Then she said, "You have been healed."'
Lady Zahra (peace be upon her) then told the girl, 'Tell your mother to observe hijab and pray at the earliest time.' After that, they said goodbye and were leaving when I woke up and called out to you to bid them farewell."
This woman, crying intensely, recounted the story to Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani, saying, 'I was deeply moved, but I still doubted whether it had truly had any effect.'
The next day, I took my daughter to the doctor who was a specialist and had been treating her. After examining and testing her, the doctor said, 'All the tests are negative. What has this girl done?' I then explained the story of Hadith al-Kisa and the events that had occurred. Hearing about the miracle, the doctor began to cry loudly."
The recitation of Hadith al-Kisa is a powerful means to resolve difficulties and fulfill needs. It has been highly recommended by many esteemed scholars as a source of blessings and divine mercy. Share and practice this profound supplication to bring peace and healing into your life.

"Sins washed away..."
The Divine Reward of Honouring the Righteous
According to the Hadith of Imam al-Ridha (AS) and his promise for the mourners, narrated by Musa ibn Sayyar.
My heart aches knowing that I cannot be there to walk in the funeral procession of our beloved Shaheed Sayyid Hasan N, to honour him as he is laid to rest.
I wish I could have been among those blessed to escort his body, for Imam al-Ridha (AS) said to Musa ibn Sayyar that whoever accompanies the funeral of a righteous servant will be purified of their sins, as pure as the day they were born.
Even though I am not there, I find comfort knowing that by holding on to his teachings and continuing his legacy, my soul walks with him.
May Allah SWT accept my longing as my presence, and may He unite us with him in the hereafter. Ilahi Ameen.

Our beloved Sayyid’s funeral is on this Sunday.
Even though I won’t be there in person, my heart will be there, mourning with those who loved him and whose lives he touched so deeply. The love I carry for him still brings tears to my eyes and words can never truly capture how much this man meant to us.
His son, Sayyid Muhammad Mahdi, spoke about his father’s funeral on Sunday. It won’t just be a farewell. It will be a covenant... a pledge to carry forward his legacy, to uphold the values he lived and sacrificed for.
Sunday will be a day of loyalty and love, a day of renewal and commitment to the path he paved for us. It’s a day to honour a life that stood firm against storms, a heart that bore burdens for our sake.
I may not be able to stand there physically, but my soul will be present, my prayers will join those of the mourners, and my heart will echo the words of loyalty: “Here I am at your service, O Sayyid.”
May his legacy live on through our love, loyalty, and steadfast commitment. Ameen.

"Do you know who will feel the greatest regret on the Day of Judgment?
The people of Hell are among those who will experience regret, but many of the people of Paradise will also be among the regretful.
This is because, while in Paradise, they will realise how many opportunities they wasted in this world... on permissible but trivial matters, entertainment, play, and late-night gatherings.
Especially when they see the ranks and elevated statuses of those who made use of those hours, nights, and days."

Imam Husayn's (AS) Promise to his True Followers
What is the good news of Imam Husayn (AS) for those who love him?
Imam Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq (peace be upon him):
A delegation came to al-Husayn (peace be upon him) and said:
"O son of the Messenger of Allah! Our companions have gone to visit Mu'awiyah, and we have come to visit you."
He replied: "Then I shall reward you with more than what he rewards them."
They said: "May we be your ransom! We have not come for a reward; rather, we have come seeking guidance in our religion."
He then lowered his head, struck the ground with his staff, and remained silent for a long time. Then he raised his head and said:
"[I will tell you a] short and simple from something long (1):
"Whoever loves us does not love us because of a kinship between us and them, nor for a favour we have bestowed upon them.
Rather, they love us for the sake of Allah and His Messenger. And whoever loves us will be with us on the Day of Resurrection like these two..."
and he joined his two index fingers together.
A comment of self-reflection:
This is the love an Imam has for his followers. But do we qualify as true followers? A true follower does not exercise any choice.
"A faithful man or woman may not have any option in their matter, when Allah and His Apostle have decided on a matter..." (Holy Qur’an 33:36).
Our current situation has reached a point where we pick and choose in our religion and laws. This is not befitting of an individual who claims to be a true follower.
The Imam requires unconditional obedience from us. Then only will we be counted amongst his true followers.
Evaluate your situation and refer to the books of Islamic Law. Do you qualify as a true follower?
