This morning my wife shared a thought that hit me and I’ve been thinking about it since: “I love that Jesus showed Himself to others after His resurrection, giving a witnesses He’s still alive!”
Jesus could have ascended back to heaven in quiet glory, leaving us to piece together the story, or wondering if he’ll ever be back, or simply forget it altogether.
Would the story be the same if he didn’t show Himself again? No. Instead, He returned—first to Mary, then to His apostles and others, giving an undeniable proof of His victory over death.
Because of these witnesses (and many in even this dispensation) along with scripture, we have a sure testimony in and of the resurrection.
I hope to one day have this witness sure myself.
I’m incredibly grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Although I’m a Latter day-Saint, I also identify as a Latter day-Sinner, because I rely on Him daily for His grace and mercy cleansing my sins.
Whenever I’m weighed down by loneliness, sorrow, shame, or despair, His love lifts me up and out through prayer, scripture, and service, etc. It’s like an infinite well of light and love, recharging my soul, without fail. Words can’t fully articulate it—you have to experience it to understand. Repentance is a beautiful gift that was meant to be a lifestyle.
Because He rose again, I know I will, too. Thank you Heavenly Father for your Son, Jesus Christ.
He is Risen!
