Spanish police have announced that they have dismantled a network of #human traffickers believed to have exploited more than 1,000 women in the last year, most of them from Colombia and Venezuela.
The operation led to the arrest of 48 people belonging to the network, including its three leaders, ‘two women of Colombian origin and a Spanish citizen’
The women were recruited in their countries of origin on false job offers, and once they arrived in Spain ‘they were transferred to clubs to be sexually exploited’.
Of the approximately fifty people arrested, six were remanded in custody.
